I am new to all of this and I am on my way to become a master tailor. I know that many people are going to Armorcrafting and have not taken Domestic Arts 1 to make Fiberplast Panel. I was wondering if there is a market for them? I know that they are used to make many different armors and clothing, and I have a few on me. Before I destroy them all I wanted to get some information first. Also, is there something somewhere that gives good pricing ideas on what to charge other players or putting on the bazaar?

Thank you for all the information that is given. I am currently a "Homemaker" <snickers> so I have not made it up to the ranks of Novice Tailor. I am working on it.

I was just wondering how much the average cost is for wuks, I have a friend on Scylla that is having troubles with pricing. I want to know what the average cost should be for them

my crates of wuks have always sold at 4500, can barely keep em stocked.

I sell the base model (20% efficiency) for 90c single and 2500c per crate. The good ones (98% efficiency) I sell 150c single and 3200 to 3500 per crate, depending on delivery costs. (I do deliver on big orders, as long as I can survive the trip.)

This is on Eclipse server btw.

I am getting ready to set up my first armor vendor. What do most AS use as a pricing stratigy. I know you want to figure in the cost of resources and factories, but I didnt know if there was a Pricing for Dummies formula type of thing to go by. If someone could help me out on this.

well......this isn't the place for specific pricing, but we can give you some guidelines without quoting you specific prices

When I price armor, I could care less what the resouces costs, and none of that is factored into my pricing scheme

As long as I am making a profit, it is fine, and the more profit I make, the better

What is your business strategy? you might look at the Mastering master AS guide for help there

Do you want to mass produce stuff? want to do mostly custom orders? Steady sales but not a full time job?

Go to your other smiths and check their pricing for ball park areas. Check the stats of their armor so you can compare quality.

If you want to do volume (Walmart style, sell tons of stuff for less profit) or do super high quality and custom jobs? (botique style, don't sell as much but have much higher profit per piece)

you will probably want to be somewhere inbetween. What I do is supply and demand, and is somewhere in bewteen

go to 4 different smiths and see what they are charging for ubese and comp, price your stuff 20% lower. If it all sells as fast as you can stock it, slowly raise your prices till you get to a level you like (want it selling fast keep it low, want the higher profit, raise it a little)

I will make as shot at this. I see 2 options to pricing armour (in general and to answer your question)...

1) Do the math. Work out what the resources cost you (or what they are worth on your server) and apply as a total cost to you. Then apply the profit margin you expect.Output, the sell price.

2) Make some armour and see how it compares to thestats on your server market.Compare yourarmour stats to the best on your server and work a price stratetgy compared to the competition.

In my experience, price is driven my market forces and the variances of the pricing can be resource pricing but greater is the challenge on pricing from fellow armoursmiths. I like this as it keeps us all sharp.

I just priced how other armorsmihts were selling armor of simular stats, im not much of a trail setter...
