Well there really is not rare or common, just degrees of quality, but of course the good stuff is going to be harder to come by as it'll be no doubt mined to extinction soon enough.

I wish each city had a nice little database you could take a peek at to see what was hot, and where. Would save an awful lot of running about. I guess until then, word of mouth and the fan sites should steer you in the right direction.

Cheers,

Shams

Hello fellow Weaponsmiths. As an aspireing weapon smith i find myself being self concense about the material i use to produce decent guns, Useing good copper/ aluminum/ Reactive gas and so on . While doing this i almost always have to use some sort of cheap material ( OAQL below 200 ) . Now i know this effects the product , but what im wondering is to what extent ? Also , what quality materials in general do you use ?

Also , in building the actualy peices , what material do you use ? For Scopes i try and use my best copper/gem , For Barrels i use Aluminum ... and so on and so forth .

When you experiment , what do you spend your experiment points on ? Durability ? dmg ? Efficiency ?

If anyone knows of a website with a guide to being a weapon smith with tips and tricks i would greatly apreciate it , else i will be here asking How , what , when , and with whom

Thank you for your time in reading this post.

You should not be focusing on the Overall Quality alone, but the particular factors that the subcomponent uses. If it says 100% Unit Toughness, you don't need Overall Quality at all, it is just best to find something with the most Unit Toughness possible. So, I use the highest resource in the factor it uses in every item that I can find.

See above, it is unimportant to you what materials we may use, because the quality of those may be different on your server, or they may not have even spawned yet at all.

Damage on all of the subcomponents and the final product. Efficiency is not yet effective enough with experimentation to merit wasting six points just to put a light dent in the Special Move costs. And I believe Durability is still broken, and has no affect whatsoever on weaponry.

I made a Seeker droid last night, on a live server. I did not see anything that would indicate that is has charges now. Can anyone confirm or not if that change is live yet?

As of August 28, 2003 - No.

I manually ade 48 for a customer, and saw no evidence they have 5-uses yet.

Hey I was wondering what material caracteristics do you watchto make good armor or do you watch different caracteristics for different matereials ?

Like is the Overal Quality and Shock the ones to watch for all materials when making armor and to make sure they are 700+?

Wondering if someone could break this down for me as far as materials go. Can all metals be used for armor construction but some are more suited toward certain pieces? Or are specific metals required for pieces.

I.E. Iron, Steel, know I'm missing one....

Can sub for Copper Alum etc?

Also will non ferrous metal work as well found some 986 OQ with 975 durability and 500'ish Shock etc but I don't know whether or not this stuff is good for crafting.

In any case it owuld be appreciated if anyone could shed some light on this.

It all depends on what the schematic calls for .

For instance, a kinetic layer needs amorphorus gemstones, polymer and any metal.

Composite for instance, calls for berilius copper as one of its components, and aluminium for another.

Ubese requires both iron and steel, so for those parts you can't use copper or aluminium.

Some things are very precise, some things are very vague.
