Armorsmith Archive
Thread: Statistics
Shame people can't read - this post was about PvE and the fact that the armor did nothing to protect this person.
I wonder how long it will take to make an impack on people when all craftmens gain the upper levels and the market has more armor than players willing to wear it.
I know you will say that you are selling the high end items as fast as you can make them - but the game is still new - people are still unaware of all the faults that armor has in comparison to any advantages. As people work with the products we now have - many will see that it is not worth wearing the armor and armorsmiths will suffer.
I cannot possible see how the developers would make a whole advanced profession based where the top of the line product takes more HAM cost to wear than the average player has in his stats. You expect a man to go into battle where he is walking dead man just because he has armor on. He has to boost his stats with stims, drugs and food - all of which wear off and if they do the second a MOB hits him with a 900 hit - he is dead dead dead.
The HAM cost of armor is riduculous - and that alone will end up driving me and my husband away from this game. We love the game and all it has to offer - but this is one issue that needs to be redesigned.
It is only your opinion that the armor is working the way it is supposed to work - it is the opinion of many others that it is not working - and if the developers have designed it to work in this manner - then their ideas are flawed.

Speaking from someone who makes and uses armor all day... the only way someone could die quick in armor than with out it is if they are spamming high cost specials at kreetle. :/
And I am not JUST being sarcastic... Armor generally (against AP0) protects around 55-70% of damage done to you. While increasing your special costs by 20-30% or so. Thus the only time it would make you die quicker is if your specials are costing way more than the damage creatures are doing to you. And the only situations this happens in are non-life-threatening situations. Such as ranged fighting in a group with tanks... or killing small creatures that don't have a prayer of killing you.
This armor is working exactly as you would expect armor to work.
Mobs don't neccessarily do energy or kinetic damage, particularly humanoid mobs. They spawn with random weapons which do the same damage as those of a player's. We came accross this when hunting tuskens when suddenly a captain popped with a Jawa Ion Rifle (stun damage) and incapped three people in 3 shots (full charge shot = 1500 dmg). If a damage type shows up in your vulnerabilities, it means you take 100% damage from that type.
