here is my situation:

im a wookiee mbh/Mcarbineer

I hunt player jedi

I dont have cert for ceremonial (recon) armor which has the energy resists I want/need to hunt jedi.

Ive been using katarn armor but i understand that we wooks are going to get the nerf, and u cant use AA's in katarn armor.

Is it possible to get some Hunting Armor or Black Mtn armor with good energy resists?

IF so that would rock.

Love me some carbines.
Dont want to drop just for armor cert.

Layered Battle armour has a theoretical max resist of 7200 for energy...but any half decent AS should be able to get over 7k so thats probably your best bet...Black Mountain is wookiee battle armour isnt it?

Yes, black mountain is the battle armor. Primus-layered battle to 6500+ energy/kinetic is another, and possibly a more easily found, option. And don't even think about energy-layered assault armor; it is basically equivalent to unlayered battle armor.

But if you're going after jedi, nothing you do to assault or battle armor is going to touch energy-layered recon, especially since PSGs are no help against a lightsaber.
