Thread: Apology
it's probably a lack of desire to make what you want rather than a lack of ability. It could also be the right resources just aren't available to smiths to make the higher end wookiee armor you're seeking. I'm highly skeptical your smiths don't know *how* to make good wookiee armor--the things that affect armor are fairly consistent among different armor types, composite being a slight exception. I suspect you mean well, but asking other smiths from other servers to help those on your server is kind of insulting to the people who make armor on your server.
Regardless, good luck finding what you need.
I have to confess that the best armour I have made for wookies is only 33% resistance. I just don't get enough call for it to take alot of my time gathering the resources to make better stuff.
I know that's a bit lazy but withoutthe demand I'd rather not use time travelling the galaxy for resources when I can be having fun playing the game in other ways. I think that if SOE made the armour layerable or improved the quality of the available resources everyone would be happy. To make amends I only charge 18k for a full suit of Kasshhyykk armour ![]()

I know *how* to make it, it's just not something I carry in my product line. There's an armor shop near Coronet that carries Wookiee armor. Go look.

Ok, I must apologize for my rant on the sunrunner board bashing the armorsmiths. I have taken a few min. to cool down. I was just extremely frustrated. Now could some armorsmiths from sunrunner explain why the lack of good wookiee armor? I was also wondering if maybe some armorsmiths from other servers could help the armorsmiths on sunrunner by giving them any info on how to make good wookiee armor. TY, and sorry again sunrunner armorsmiths.
I think the SR is gated on the wood Askillian, but I'm sure you've noticed that hardwood is better than the soft stuff.
Like he said...resources. It takes quite a bit of animal harvests to make. Plus you need tialor stuff that they actually have to experiment on. It took me a couple of days to find a tailor that was willing to practice and get the hang of experimentation. Oh..and the tailor padded segments require hide as well.
Second...perceived value. I've heard people and wookies get all pissy about pricing. The resists suggest that the armor is on par with Chitin...and people think that should dictate the price. If I could get 200k for a suit, I'd keep the vendor stocked with it all the time. As it stands, I charge around 75k for 50% kinetic. There just isn't much incentive to make it.
Without regard to resource requirements, it's pretty easy to make. I haven't found many that care about the base. They usually want kinetic and then condition.
On a side note. Voritor scales, rancor hides (for condition) and kryat scales work very nicely in this armor.
I skipped basketweaving IV, so I can't make wookiee armor...
Seriously though, blame the devs for the silly resource requirements, not the armorsmiths. It doesn't help either that you dump some great resources into it and the wookiees cry if you charge more than 50K a set. IMHO, the devs shot wookiee armor in one foot with the resources, and the wookiees shot it in the other foot by complaining about "high" prices.

Go pick up Armorsmith and see how difficult it is to make.
You need large quantities of Endorian Deciduous Wood and Yavinian Leathery Hide to make the segments. You need a Tailor to make the Armor Padding and Synthetic Cloth subcomponents for the armor.
You then need more Wood, leathery hide, and wooly hide to make the actual armor.
Also, like the other smiths said, it can't be layered. So I consider any Wookie armor above 50%kinetic to be excellent.
Since hides are so expensive, they are put to better use in Ubese and Composite.

I've still not figured out how the armor resists are calculated for the kashyyykian.
Takes twice as many points to raise the base up significantly.
If I max out the base it ends up around 33-35% base and 30-33%ish kinetic.
My guild mates got me almost 90k of some decent yavin leather. it was like 900oq 377sr, I believe, from memory.
wood 819oq 672sr
hide 933oq 377sr
the rest of the resources are some of the best. but b/c of these both being low even if I use better resources in the final combine the stats come out the same
