Thread: need help just made master AS
Looking at the schematics will help too.
The schematics tell you what qualities are important in resources.
If you are sincere about making great composite armor you need to do the research, pay the credits for the absolute best resources and experiment by making dozens of gloves to test different combinations. You've admitted to doing the fast track to getting the title of Master Armorsmith. Now you have to become one. There is no fast track to this unless you literally have a hundred million credits or more to spend on the best resources and skill tapes. Now is the time for you to slow down, learn your craft and merit the title you wear. Good luck.

Re making comp armor - this is what I did to make a set.... Follow this and you will have some that's good enough to start getting the money coming in. I did much of the following while grinding to master armorsmith, but it will work after the grind just as well.
Collect the resources you need - this may take some time, if no good resources are available then harvest radioactive to either sell or use in the harvesters. Upgrade to BER 10 mediums if possible. Don’t go wasting good resources until you are able to make composite armor – I wasted 100k of Kirrum steel (OQ 950ish) on the grind, before I realised just how rare this was.
Keep an eye on the Bazaar, and buy and good / cheep Woolly that comes up for sale.
Purchase at least one factory.
Now – ready to make the armor…
Use your resources and make an un-layered segment, then use this segment to make a glove. In each craft use as many experimentation points as possible on the middle bar – but always leave at least one for the top bar to be used last. Use any left over points on the top bar. Note down the base % resist of the glove.
Calculate what kinetic you need to hit the 80% cap – (80 – 6 – your base %) = kinetic required.
Calculate what kinetic you need in each layer – (kinetic required / 3) = layer kinetic value. Round this up to a whole number.
Make a kinetic layer schematic.
Make sure the base shows 2%, if not add a point into the middle bar to up this to 2%
Add as many points into the bottom bar as is required push kinetic to the value required above.
Use all excess points on the top bar to lower HAM as much as possible.
Redo the above until you have had an amazing or two, and pick the very best schematic to go on with. Make 1000 of them in your factory.
Make segment schematic.
Using three of the above layers, and you resources, use as many experimentation points as possible on the middle bar – but always leave at least one for the top bar to be used last. Use any left over points on the top bar.
Redo the above until you have had an amazing or two, and pick the very best schematic to go on with. Make as many as possible of them in your factory.
Final combine – do this by hand unless you have loads of identical hides.
