Thread: No vulnerabilities...unintended???
Sorry...don't know how it doubled.
No edit (or delete) yet either....

It would suck to have to add a vulnerability to fix the problem. Was it some sort of myth or just player mis-observation that these weren't meant to be vulnerable to anything?
Yup. Without official documentation, people made assumptions.
Because PSGs were definitely intended to have stun protection, and since they would often protect against everything, most people just assumed that they're supposed to be vulnerable to everything. It now seems as if they are intended to be vulnerable to kinetic, blast, and acid.
RIS is pretty well fixed now, and the acid/stun vulnerabilities make sense at a certain level.
As for Tantel ... no one really knows.
Or will they retro everything?

Kinetic resist on PSG's would hurt, but still, this makes sense right? It isn't like an energy field could stop someone from punching you.
Anyway, It doesn't make sense (looks like a smokescreen) with regards to RIS since it shouldn't have more/worse vunerabilities than Composite.
As for Tantel, once it has 2, 3, or 4 vunerabilities, it will be even more worthless as a suit until it gets advanced panels and more than 3 pieces.
But why? Why should an "ancient warrior's armor" which was advertised as being a "high impact armor that is useful for melee combatants"be equivalent or better than composite?
Everyone keeps saying that RIS should be godly, but no one has given any good rationale other than that it's difficult to find the components to make it.
And it's not as if RIS is utterly useless in PvE even with those vulnerabilities. While PvP is the endgame for many of us, it's not that way for all. Stun and Acid vulnerabilities mean little to those who fight primarily against creatures and the occasional NPC.

I thinks thats a pretty damn good reason right there. The more you have the work for something, the greater the reward should be. As it stands right now, RIS has practically no purpose. Even its stated purpose as a good armor for melee is questionable since you can get 80% Kinetic Ubese or Composite for FAR lass effort. Heck, for the price of just one peice of RIS armor, that at max will have a Kinetic Resist of 80%, you could get a whole suit of Composite with every peice's Kinetic resist sliced to higher than 80%. RIS's only saving grace is its lower encumbrance, however, unless you're one of the small minority of players who can afford an entire suit of RIS, having only a slightly lower encumbrance on one piece of armor in your suit isn't going to make up for the extra damage you're going to take due to that pieces inferior resists.
RIS doesn't need to be made godly to fix it. It just needs to be made comprable to Composite. Namely it should have only one vulnerability and experimentation on its base resists should effect its special protection like it does in Composite. Those two changes would make RIS a usefull and sought after armor.
