Thread: Looking For Info Regarding Padded Armor

Personally padded armor is my favorite type of armor in this game. I'll admit it is mainly due to the aesthetic quality, but it is my favorite none-the-less. Now I know that this armor requires both Yavinian wooly hide and Lokian leathery hide, but beyond that I don't have a clue as to what types of metal or other resources are needed in the construction of this armor. Since most of the armorsmiths on Kauri deal only with composite armor and Ubese armor I usually have to provide the Yavinian and Lokian hides for them. What I would like to start doing is mining the minerals required in this armor myself, so that I can provide the armorsmith willing to accomadate my request, with the absolute best resources. Even though I usually only wear this armor as an article of clothing, I want to be able to get the best resists possible, (which is very difficult since I would have to wait until both Yavinian wooly and Lokian leathery have an OQ + SR of 1600 or greater).

If any armorsmith would be so kind as to tell me what the entire resource requirements are I would be very grateful. Thankyou for taking the time to read this post and hopefully for providing the information I seek.

P.S.--- Are Rancor padded armor segments a worthwhile addition to thisarmor?

Cubirian Steel and Corellian Fiberplast eh? Well thankyou for the information Stakka. I think I'm going to start mining the stuff in the hopes that I will be mining it when they turn up with a decent SR + OQ rating. I also think that I'll start hunting down Rancor segments in the hopes of finding some with good stats.

Oh by the way I do have two related questions to pose to the Armorsmith community. The first is what were the best resistances you've ever managed to get on padded armor, if you have ever tried. The second is this, what would I have better luck in accomplishing; finding enough high quality resources neccessarry to have an armorsmith create about half a dozen suits of padded armor with decent resists, or collecting the proper loot drops for a full suit of RIS armor?

Well, the best Adv. Padded I've seen was about 76% Energy and 40% Base...and sets like that sell for 400-500k. Then again, you need 9 Kimogila Scales, Harrower Bones, etc. to make a full suit of RIS...and thats without crit failing on anything. RIS will take more time to gather, then again, it will also take a while to find good Padded Armor resources. I guess it's up to you...ask around for the Padded stuff first. I'm pretty sure some good Cubirian, Fiberplast, etc. have spawned some time back. If that takes too long, go nuts on RIS components.

Personally I'd be willing to pay that much for a few good sets of Padded Armor like that. And I'm sure I could get a discount for providing my armorsmith with ALL the neccessary resources for such a custom order run of armor. Padded armor looks too cool to be so poorly regarded.

You also need Corellian Fiberplast and Cubirian Steel...both of which barely spawn to anything good. The best Corellian I've seen on Scylla is like 1500 OQ+SR.

And no, Rancor segments are just pitiful UNLESS they have a high base effectiveness (30%+)
