I'm playing a Combat Medic/Doctor mainly. I was hoping Combat Medic would be a little more powerful in combat, but with the bugs and nerfs he just won't cut in PvE (which I mostly play).
I was thinking about taking up Carbineer to get some decent combat abilities added to the character. With the current skills that I have, I'll have 25 Skill Points to spend on the Carbineer skills (the points needed in the marksman tree and for Novice Carbineer are already deducted). From what I was reading it sounds to me like getting Expert Marksmanship and Expert Counterinsurgency would be my best choices.
I'd like to get an insiders opinion though, what special moves are best for carbines?

those lines are both really good, but i'm not sure if I'd get both.... crippling shot and burst shot 2 are pretty much the same thing (i think burst shot 2 may be a bit better, but with crip shot comes a nice accuracy bonus). assuming charge shot 2 works some day, you could go accuracy and special moves, or accuracy and speed for a nice stat mod combo (both speed and accuracy together). I only had enough points for one line, and i went with accuracy at first, but then switched to speed because speed (to me) is the most important modifier, and scatter shot 2 is my favorite carbine ability (not sure why no one else really likes it much). anyway, hope that helped some.

Go 3/3/0/0. You will get a very high damage shot with that you can speed up with the bonuses from the first line. Plus you will get a bonus to accuracy. The most important modifiers in the carbine tree (in my opinion) are:
1. Speed
2. Accuracy
3. Accuracy while moving
Not bad to get two of them plus a high damage shot (cripiling) a leg cone shot (legshot 3 when they fix it) and a great support shot (scatter 2) that damages multiple pools at once.

Working your way up personal armor first gives you more crafting options if you just plan on grinding through the profession. If you are looking to sell while grinding up the trees techniques may be an option for you (however the armor you will be making will have to be very competitivly priced to sell)

Honestly I wouldn't make anything to sell or use until master anyway, just keep grinding until your there. The info in the FAQ should take you all the way
