Hi everyone,

I just made some testcomp gloves: my first attempts at a) high kinetic/elec armour and b) High blast/elec/kin

The first set are:

80% Kin/80% Elec/67% Base

The second set are:

79% Kin/80% Blast/78% Elec/65% Base

(made using 2 blast layers at 4/4 and 1 Kinetic at 2/13)

(Note: Im only a 10pt Armoursmith atm :smileyhappy

Whichone is better (if either)?

Which would be better to focus onselling for a beginner armoursmith?

Thanks in advance!

You'll normaly find the highest demand for the following layers...

Kinetic
Stun
Energy

I've rarely had much request for the others in composite. Acid sometimes, for a helm to defend against eyeshot from a BH. But Blast, heat, cold don't have much demand, from my experience.

Anyone else have a different take?

I think the better question to ask yourself, is what are these armors best suited for?

80/80/67 is a very good suit, its very well ballanced for PvE and has good standing in PvP.

This is why Some armorsmiths use more than one composite profile. You tailor your armor according to an intended purpose. PvP armors might include Stun protection to fill in the stun gap, light ubese armor for doctors who want to work in the field and still get some protection.

Some weapons do Blast, I am not certian which ones offhand, nor do I know of any places where mobs or NPCs will do blast damage. But, if that were the case, you would want the second suit.

You will want to decide how many types of armor you make and then sort these sub-types out. The more types you offer, means more work. But generaly they mostly hinge off protecting vs Energy, kinetic, stun, low weight, and high bases... various other combinations of that.

No one cares about electricity. Forget the 80% electric and use the 1 or 2 points it takes to get the 80% and make the armor lighter or raise the condition Blast isn't used much either. I run around in an 80% kinetic suit with 56% base sliced for encumb and it weighs less than 350 in each pool. Works great But I'm also a master rifleman and like most combat professions, a master with buffs and 55% resists can kill just about anything in the game pretty easy. 80% kinetic with high condition and low HAM sells the best off my vendors.

I think Power hammers and some grenades are the only ones with blast damage...

Thanks for the advice guys.

Ive realised I should be going for Kin/Energy armour instead of Kin/Blast.

Ive also already got some pretty nice 38% Stun armour, so thats one of my main PvP armours sorted.

Blast layers are best for layering a rmor to get high base without pushing something usefull like kinetic, energy, acid ect in to special catigory so that it can get sliced to 90% with reasonable HAMs cause after you top out base put the rest in enc.

That armro is the alternitive to the heavier high base medium stun that will have significantly higher HAM costs.

Aside from that stay away from blast layers. the 80%kinetic you have with 67 base is a nice armor for startng off though id go with it for sure
