Hello fellow factional Armorsmiths...
This Idea has probably been posted before, and may even be posted in the wrong forum, If so, I am sorry..
Ok, I think an easy ... very very easy way to get factional armor into the hands of crafters is to have 9 schematics drop off of High level NPC mobs and High level Rebel and Imperial NPCs (the same ones who dropped Holo's). Each schematic would be a limited use (let say two, like the paintings.. could be more or less.. up to the devs).. One schematic would drop for each piece of factional armor.. at first there would only be Stormtrooper and Marine armor since they are the easiest for the devs to do.. since they are already in game and tested and we all know they work... Other types of factional armor could be doled out in the same fashion after testing on test center.
In order to craft the factional armor you must be either Imperial or Rebel depending on the type you wish to craft.
Also, have individual, moded pieces drop from very high level mobs (like the pieces that are given in reward at Emps retreat.... ) So there would be a chance of getting an Exceptional ST helm with 55% base stats, low HAM and Def vs Intimidate 11 Def Vs Poison 18.. or a legendary ST leggings with Carbine accuracy while moveing +25 ..I dunno you get the Idea..
What do you think? Would you rather have it this way. .or would you rather have a Dungeon type thing like the DWB.. maybe use the Warren again... The bad thing about a dungeon type scenario it would be camped 24/7 like the geocaves.. OR would you rather it be a quest type thing you get from either Mon Mothma or The Emperor.. kind of like the RIS quest???

/slaps self... heh why didnt I think of that?? anyways that wuld be the easiest way of all!!.. But I still like the idea of Exceptional / Legendary ST / Rebel armor dropping from mobs as well.. to augment the well built (composite compairible crafted faction armor).. would you agree?

Well, I'm kind of a newb to the AS profession, I just started last week and I love the idea! I 've been an Imperial player since launch and I've always thought it was funny that factional AS's couldn't craft armor. But rather than a loot drop or schematic that can be bought, maybe something more quest-based could be implemented. Or, the higher faction you are, the more access to schematics. For instance, a master sergeant may be able to craft stormtrooper armor, but a colonel could craft stormtrooper commando armor and so on. Maybe even an AS that reaches surface marshall would be able to make a few pieces ofheavy armorsimilar to Darktrooper armor.
I've played a lot of the combat professions and nothing would please me more than to be able to wear stormtrooper armor hand-crafted with care by an AS that can make awesome armor. Stormtrooper armor and, heck, even Rebel armor should be able to be on par with composite. But right now, the ST armor is nothing more than a showpiece...

I'd rather have a 5 use schematic. And for people that already spent FP for the armor, they could turn in the pieces to obtain the schematic for that particular piece. That way at least all there work isn't in vain and will be able to upgrade to better Faction Armor.
They should make it accept 3 layers and 1 enhancement, otherwise, if it isn't comparable to Composite it wouldn't be worn.

craftable faction armor would be sweet, but there arent many rebel armors the only one in-game right now is of course marine, what else could there be (i havent seen the movies in a VERY long time)?
The imperials have:
Scout Armor
Scout Armor
Regular ST
and Storm Commando (which is of course scout armor just black)
