Thread: Newb trying to understand AS

Okay, i am a holosmith. But i love armor crafting and am going to keep it as long as i can. That said i just have a few questions.
I have started crafting some composite armor for my friends, Because i have just found out what resources are needed i have yet to mine the resources needed. So all the resources i have are mostly off of the Bazaar. Good not great for the most part. My questions are
1.) Why are there so many compisite pieces selling with less then 30 or so bases. Do the AS's not care about there armor? The armor i make is usually no less then 30 and close to 40% an this is without Advanced Components(no iron i can find).
2.) I play on wanderhome, I usually bought my armor from wren on Lok. I have boughten maybe one piece with sockets from him. But i have shopped at many places and results are the same. What i don't understand is why are there so many armor sets without sockets. So far i have yet to make a piece without sockets even had a few pieces with 4.

I suppose that depends on where you look. I mean there are some crappy AS out there but after a little while most people will find someone they like that makes good armor so i would never see a point in making bad composite. Besides that i take relative pride in making some of the best compo on my server.

the sockets are random........and people probably buy 30 % cuz either they cant afford to or just dont care to spend that much at the moment, and 30% sounds like it has really low ham. which is what people complain bout the most.

I sell low resist stuff on my vender at very reduced prices. People buy it cause 30's resist comp is better than many other armor types where the smith tried. On the sockets most of my armor has them, but its random. Most do, some don't. Besides , you usually are wearing a full suit, and most people don't need 36 sockets.

Thanks for the info, With the sockets question i was just trying to figure out why every piece of armor i made had sockets but alot of stuff i have boughten hasn't had any.
I am guessing that for the most part people aren't useing Advandced pieces. Pretection wise i with my resources and 3 kinetic layers i cap at 42% and 69% Kinetic. This is without Advanced segments. Colat Iron is almost impossible to find on Wanderhome.
