Thread: And People wonder!!!!!!

People wonder why we charge so much for armor. I'll tell you why. It's the absurd amount of Critical failures on both assembly and experimentation. I wasted 16 Advanced Ubese armor segments tonight trying to make an Ubese jacket. Not to mention the other resources that are used in the construction of the item. All were very high quality also. I was using a 43.4% crafting station and a 14.3 % tool. Heck i even crit failed twice on assembly on bone armor bracers, which were used for a dancer decoration. These are novice artisan items!!!! I'm supposed to be a master armorsmith!!!!

So next time you complain about paying 175k for a full set of advanced composite armor, think about all the damn resources wasted because of the absurd amount of critical failures. Hell, even a good success on experimentation basically ruins the armor.

On another subject, why do i get great and amazing successes on quality and special resists, but as soon as i touch the durability bar, the failures and the moderate successes come rolling in? This definately needs to be looked at and fixed!!

Thanks for reading my rant, but tonight was just too much for me to take!!

I feel for ya buddy!

Last night i wanted to make a schematic for Adv Ubese Pants, so i can make a factory run, but every time i done my third experimentation(i do 3 lots of 2 then 1) i got a moderate success. this happened 7 times....Yes you heard right 7 times in a row. Thats 21 Adv ubese segments! Wasted....I mean Moderate success....it only added 1% to the special resist anyway and they call that a success!

I hear that the fail rate in this game is supposed to be like 4%. Well i constantly get double or some time triple assembly crit fails in a row. How can that be 4%.

Well cut a long story short..i managed to get my schematic done with my meagre 7 crafting points(not yet ASM) and turned out a 58%Kinetic,13%Eff unit.

Now if i wasn't making a run, this item would have cost me like a ton of resources to make and i could never make back that kind of expenditure in credits.

Yep, about 3 nights ago I made one suit of Composite. Out of 9 pieces I failed on 4 of them. I'm not talking the "moderate success" type fail, I'm talking 3 crit fails on assembly, and 2 crit fails in a row on experimentation on one (going to 0%).

Hopefully this new revamp soon will help.

I have found my most common failure rates (less then great results) come on my composite arms... I might put out 5 perfect chest plates in a row and then fail on 6 arms... typically my arms seem to be at about 50% success rate...no clue as to why..

Yeah I think you're selling yourself short. I charge 250k for a full suit of adv composite, and I can barely keep up with the orders.

thats why you get factories. granted you do need 9, but its way easier and faster....sorta.

Jeri's Armor located on Corellia in Sabacc city.
3660,-2247 is the location of my composite vendor,
i sell 80 ( or 78) kinetic suits and decently base at 60ish for 180k.
Cheap don't mean poor quailty.

Newsflash to you, you still need to make a schematic.......................

"So next time you complain about paying 175k for a full set of advanced composite armor,"

WHAT SERVER DO YOU PLAY ON??
OMG, sorry but that is one hell of a price!

Best smith on Starsider charges 750k for a full set of compo that has some crazy high 70+ protection in everything..
Anyway, what server are you on?

I play on the Wanderhome server. I make 58% electricity and 46% base advanced composite armor. I normally sell this for about 100k or a bit lower for people who are regular customers. Maybe i should jack up the price a bit more.

I think i paid roughly 1.2 million for my Suit of Advanced Comp presliced, its 79-83% and total hamencumbrance is391, it has about 38k in durability left, heh im at about 23K/38K on all my pieces.

I bought this suit about 4 months ago so i think its just now starting to pay off and im gonna have to buy one sooner or later, hence the reason for me making my own armor smith and my own smuggler on a 3rd and 4th account.

about the hides it is BS, i was a ranger for a whlie on my main account, and i grinded out master BE out of my 2nd account which the organics alone was a pain(heh 100k of berries is is to keep track of, where there is 1 stack of meat not where there are 59 stacks of meat and one stack of berries.)

Oh come on guys, an advanced ubese segment takes only 86 resources (assuming you add a kinetic layer). Suppose you would "waste" 21 segments, that would still only be 1806 resources. Now if you harvest this yourself, this will cost you much less than 1806 credits. So I still dont see why some people try to sell ubese jackets for 50 k. And if you use your moderate success segments to create a product, you can still sell that as well. Let me tell you this: I sell my ubese jackets (70% kinetic) for 7-8 k a piece and I do make a decent profit (but no the millions are not rolling in every week but why would I want that anyway).
