I've been looting these with some frequency lately. For example, I got a set of 9 with 4% on base, no health encumbrance listed, -5 action encumbrance, and no mind encumbrance listed.

Let's say I loot two more 4% sets of nine. I get a 'smith to make a segment schematic with one layer from each set in each slot, and do a run of 8 segments. What would the base on a triple-layered comp piece look like in this case (triple 4% base NS layers)?

Also, does anyone know if there are really stats for health and mind encumbrance on these? I know that on some of my layersall of the encumbrances don't show. From the stats on NS shards I'mguessing that these layers reallydrop all three encumbrances down 5 pointsper layer, not just the action as listed.

The base % of the final product used with NS layers would be the same as if you used regular hand crafted layers. The difference is that NS layers have like no enc on the layer whereas the handcrafted kinetic layers are something like 4% base 10/10/10 ham (varies different servers and how you experiment it) but thats the jist of it. NS layers just give an advantage to the HAM when used. The cool part is some NS layers come bigger than 5%.. i have seen as high as 12%.. which is huge.

NS layers with huge action encumberance (negative) are best used in legs and/or boots... i built a set of legs that got eff slicedthat was 80% elect 90% base (stun vulner) that has 60/85/10 encumberance. I used some really good shards, and a set of 6% -9, 5% -14 and 5% -8. Good stuff.. hope this helps.
