Thread: Do the Devs realize why composite in number one?
In your post you call chitin "Low End Armor" and that is a mistake. One of the hardest things as an armorsmith is being able to sell your customer on what they need, not just what they think they want.
Everyone wants 80% spec prot and 67-68% effect comp on our server and I can not count the credits I have made by helping them realize they may get better results from say high kinetic Ubese or Chitin.. esp when they find out they can wear it w/o buffs and slight stat migration.
Sold a 60% kinetic chitin suit to a gent a couple weeks ago for almost 125k .. I sent him a tell the other day.
He loves it, andhas leveledalmost all the way thru heavy swordsman in that armor.
Something to think about there. ![]()
I used to make kinetic padded, when my hides were decent. I just hate making armor that takes multiple types of hides. Have to find HQ scaley, wooly, and leather just to make it.
What's the point. Comp offeres better protection and is way easier to make.

Not to mention that the wooly and leather need to come from two advanced planets (assuming you're making advanced). The only reason I make padded is because I get those hides from leveling combat skills, and I stumbled across a decent amount of very good scaley hide.
Agreed. A good portion of comp and Ubese's popularity comes from the fact that the other armors are a royal pain to make. I think if people knew how good chitin and padded could be there would be some demand fopr them.

Recruiting new players into your guild that are trying to level up scout helps a ton. I had an arrangement to where I bought up good quality starter pistols/rifles/carbines/etc and hand made some 'militia' mabari armorweave and donated it to new players that joined our guild. This helps them get off to a very good start as opposed to trying to go it on their own w/ CDEF crap and no armor. And then the hides/bones they collect along the way while levelling up I offer to buy from them for 5cr/u (help them make some cash along the way, too). Some of them refuse to even take money and just give it to me, since I help them get started.
I end up with some nice sizeable stacks of bones/hides this way now. And since they're getting more advanced and able to hunt larger game, they ask me what type of hides/bones I need and what planet to find it on, what drops it, etc. Quite handy.
