i don't understand why R.I.S. armor was even put in....comp is better, and a ton easier to make, right?

does anyone see any advantages of RIS over comp?

It has much less HAM, which is nice. The main benefit was that it would be light and have very high kinetic, but as its so freaken hard to make and suffers from the shifting protections bug its pretty much useless. I would have rather all the effort that was put into developing RIS went into bug fixes instead.
