I know RIS armor is suppose to be rare, but this is ludicrious! Just doing a fly by on my speeder the thing hits me from 30m+ out. OK, no biggy. He does a poison. Again, no biggy, I am a Medic. IT HIT ME FOR 466 MIND WOUNDS!

SOE is this some kind of sick joke? The thing has a HAM of 90K+. Killing a Krayt is like playing in a kiddy pool next to this thing. All that for the rare chance I MIGHT get what I need from it.

Ironically... the armor SUX. So we have to defeat monsters that most people wouldn't even considering killing for armor that doesn't even match up to a good set of Composite armor.

GJ on putting something interesting in then yank it away while you laugh. And this is suppose to be for Armorsmiths? LMAO

Oh wait! Even better! The first few are taken just to get the schematic! LMAO

This is like post # 4852467343 on this issue but yes i agree, killing 300 GDK that i couldnt even scratch the fingernail on with my armorsmith just to make your first real piece of RIS isnt exactly my idea of a fun time.

First up, yes it's supposed to be rare (but about 1 in 100 drop rate? maybe a little too rare)

Second, it's not supposed to be an easy thing to kill and almost impossible solo- do it in a strong group

Third, in what way does the armour suck? With good resources and 12 experiment points, the stats can be awesome. With mediocre resources, I got a helmet made with 72% kinetic, 51% base and 31/32/180 ham without a slice. I wouldn't say that sucks. A decent slice and that'll be 72/68 (ish) with Hams of a low encumberance ubese helmet.

With great resources and a nightsister shard in the segment, I think an 80% across the board is feasible

Plus it looks the mutt's nuts

Btw where's the proof GDK scales drop 1 in every 100?

I know people who havekilled hundreds of GDK in kimo city and looted none. I also know someone who used tohunt in a different area andaveraged 2 every 4 days or so.

So who can say?

How many full sets have been reported? I have heard of 1 in all of SWG. The rumor is 3 sets of Madalorian per server when it goes in. That's much more frequent then a set of armor that can be crafted.

Second, it's not supposed to be an easy thing to kill and almost impossible solo- do it in a strong group

90K is ludicrious. SWG has said that people who don't power game will have the same chance as someone who does. Wouldn't it take a group of power gamers to kill one? I think it would. Although I am going to test the theory this weekend. With the help of a guildmate we are assembling a team of 20 people that are Masters of a variety of Combat professions as well as having a Master Ranger to put up a field HQ and 2 Master Doctors.

With all the things you just mentioned, a set of Composite would turn out very close. I can make Composite. Also, TC reports say the Stats shift... ergo- sux to wear. The only reason it is decent and has a slight edge over Comp now is the recently added 4th layer.

Plus it looks the mutt's nuts

As with most people... I want to make it because it is there.

Well, I think that SOE want AS to PAY for components. So this make money go back to player and give some contents to combat classes. I mean, we are among the richest ppl in SWG right? Our guild AS had 176 mil when he left... At 2mil per GDK scales, it'S nothing for him. My plan is to make money and then buy those things.

I soloed one the other day.

Master doctor, master swordsman

The new mind foods are sweet.

It diseased me on all 3 main stats, I was at -399 on health and action and -1099 on mind.

The thing is, it maxes at your max minus one. Since I buff myself, my action and health were both something like 2500 still. The disease doesn't go into that.

With the mind foods, my mind was still doing pretty good to. I had to pop a muon in there and at the end it was a close thing. I got it's mind bar down low enough to get it to run just as the muon downer kicked in. Then I sat there and waited 2 minutes, dropped another muon and went and finished it.

This was after the bleeds were nerfed, too.

yes GDK's aint too tough ffs. Sorry to troll but would you prefer for RIS to require Gnort hide? to solo a GDK you need good combat skills (swordsman, perhaps some tka and fencer) some nice medic skills + GOOD buffs and lots of food. sure it will disease ya but your stats will stop at your max so when you have 3k buffs you will have 3k HAM. it doesnt hit very hard if you wear some decent armour, which as a armoursmith is assume you have lots of. Just keep it intimidated, blind, stunned, burned and any other status's you can and keep COB on. it will take some time but it can be done.

Well, the hunting party finally got together,. We ended up killing 2 and got 7 scales. I guess we hit the loot rotation just right.

In case you haven't found out already - those aren't the scales for RIS armour. The RIS component only drops one at a time and looks like a hide container (there are no stats on it - it just says "Scales from a Giant Dune Kimogila").

This is one Master Armorsmith that decided RIS was a complete and utter waste of time. Frankly I'm embarrassed to say it but I fell for the devs cruel prank. I was stupid enough to try to get the Woolamander Harrower bone fragment. After staying at the Woolamander Palace for days and killing 2 every hour I had ZERO bone fragments to show for it.
