I think there was an excellent guide in the either the loot or game guide forums.

Can't remember.

Armor attachments (and clothing attachments) add bonuses to you skills. They go into the sockets of your armor. A piece of armor can have up to four sockets. Each bonus on the attachment fills one socket. If you have more bonuses than sockets (dropping a three-bonus tape into a piece with one free socket), the bonuses will appear in the armor in the order they appear on the tape (top to bottom) with the lower bonuses cut off as you run out of sockets. For example, if you drop an AA with three bonuses into a piece with one free socket, only the first bonus will stick.

To install an armor attachment, simply drag it onto a piece of armor in your inventory. Once you have installed an AA, it cannot be removed. If you destroy the armor, the AA is destroyed, too.

Be careful about AA bonuses. There are many that don't work or are for obsolete skills.

This is incorrect. The highest mod will stick, not the first listed. This is the way all SEA's have worked from day 1. This was still the case as of 2 days ago when I dropped a Gen Melee Accuracy +11 CA into my belt. It was the second listed mod but had the highest modifer.

Also, if all mods are the same and you only have one socket left, then they are added alphabetically. IE - You have 1 socket left and you have a SEA with the following mods:Jedi uberness +4,BH uberness +4, and Weapsonsmith Exp +4. When you drop that SEA into the article, theBH uberness +4will stick and the other two will vanish.

WARNING!! DO NOT APPLY TWOSEA'S WHICH MOD THE SAME SKILL INTO THE SAME ARTICLE AS THEY DO NOT STACK. Two mods for the same skill will not stack when placed into the same article, only the highest mod will stick. IE - BH uberness +10 from one SEA and BH uberness +15 from another SEA are both placed into the same article. As they do not stack, only the BH uberness +15 will stick and you're out of a nice BH uberness +10 SEA.

This was the case after the CU went live. However, they have since been fixed and do not add the extra sockets. I tested this around 10 days ago with a pair of pre-cu composite boots and gloves I have.
