The title says it all, STORM TROOPER ARMOR is the most widely mass produced armor in the galaxy yet in SWG it must be hand made.
I think it would make more sense to have the ST armor schems to be a one time purchase with unlimited uses and factory runs, while the Rebel armor should stay the way it is. And any chance for the Faction Armor belts to get some SOCKETS along with the Boots and gloves.
What are your thoughts.....?

Game mechanics, my friend. Game mechanics. You have a good argument (though I don't see why rebels wouldn't be able to mass produce Identical uniforms either as they already had matching flightsuits/hoth wear/endor wear etc.) but the fight to keep this game like the movies has long since been lost. Quite honestly, it is now ALOT easier to get faction armor than before. They wan't it too be special and they feel that the only way to do that is make it a pain to get. /shrug.
I'm not holding my breath for sockets either. They have stated their reasons for doing what they did and if they go that far, it's hard to get them to go back on it.

What the movies never showed us, is that to the Empire, mass production means cracking the whip at hundreds of individual armorsmiths who hand craft it. So there you go, SWG really is just like the movies
