Hello master crafters,
I am on the path to become a BH. I am a pistoleer. These will certify me for Assault and Recon Armor. As I understand, Recon armor would generally yield higher energy resists. Can any assault armor reach the higher levels of resistance in comparison to recon? (I do realize the expense involved, so please don't worry about that.) The reason I ask this is because I really think that the various assault armors look better than the recon armors. The recon armors are tantel, mabari, and ubese correct? (oh, I'm also a rebel, and have a set of rebel marine). I realize the recon sets are higher energy resists, but I do want to try and keep some sense of style. Can the assault get in the 7000 energy range or higher? Thanks for your time.

You can energy layer the assault armor, but that will max out at 6200 energy and 5800 kinetic. That is a good as it can go. Sorry to be the bearer of news you were hoping not to hear!

Forgive my ignorance for one more question: These "appearance" schematics- do they simply make one type of armor look like another? I.E. could I change say Ubese armor to look like BH armor? Is that how that works?

Not exactly... The final phaseof armor crafting is the appearance phase. This is where cores are changed into armor pieces. Cores come in the flavors of battle, assault, and recon. A recon core can be used to craft any recon appearance type. A battle core for any battle type and so on. IE, a battle core could be used to make ris, stormtrooper armor, or any other battle armor type, but it could not be used to make an assault or recon type.

Gotta admire that in a customer. He don't just want protection ... he's gotta be stylin'
Mix and match armor sets without compromising too much on protection has to be the best thing about post-CU armor.
