Thread: reconn armor core ...

hi

i have crafted this reconn armor core:

3714 kinetic

7878 energy

5795 base


usally it would be capped (8200 energy) reconn as well


but its only 8083 energy in finished armor piece?


bug or feature?

Feature. You've got an capped energy layered core, but what you can't do is add 400 to the resists of this core to get the stats of the armor.

Core resists and layer resists are treated seperately. Your core resist is capped at 7000 energy. Multiply the protection of your energy layer by 12. Add that number to 7000 to get the final stats of your armor.

You're using a core that unlayered is 6795 energy. This is a bit of a waste. You only need to hit 6600 energy to cap the core. The extra 175 protection you're getting from the core does not stack with the protection of the energy layers. So you can either dial back the quality of the resources you use in cores and segments, or you can add points to condition by not maxing protection.

feature, thats the way it works. Treat layers separately from core and segment resources. From your base I can tell you can make capped unlayered armor. base is 5795, during final combine this will go to 6000, so you will only be getting 205 final combine addition instead of the max 400.


Take your 205 and add it to your core energy value of 7878 and you get 8083


To make 8200 armor you need to make energy layers with 100 bonus (perfect resources) 12 layers per adv core equals 1200 bonus and this is added to your unlayered energy value of 7000 to get 8200.

Oh yes and I agee with Pyke you are overcooking your segment and core resources by making a core with a lot over 5600 base unlayered. Save some of those good core resources and change a few to less good ones to aim for a core with a base just over 5600 to get maximum benefit from the 400 bonus
