Thread: Question about buying faction armor as a master smuggler

I'm sure I buy it cheaper since I get master smuggler, but Ibelieve it depends on your faction rank too (I think I get discount as master smuggler+ Imperial colonel )
Oh, and I'm human

Faction perk costs should not depend on your rank. I see the same prices on my Reb colonel toon as I do on my Reb sergeant. Race, of course, matters for Imps -- but my Imp Zabrak corporal has 2x the cost of my friend's Human Warrant Officer II, which should mean they'd have the same cost if they were the same race.
GCW planet score also affects costs. I've noticed that if there is any base killing or dropping activity going on, not all bases/recruiters/officers seem to get the correct information at the same time, plus there is some lag between when a base is blown/dropped and when the score gets updated. Because of this, if you want to try to verify whether MAS/MSmug and MAS have the same price or not, you should talk to the same recruiter at the same base at the same time.

Posted this on the smuggler forum, but no one seemed to know, so I'll try here. I am a master smuggler, and a master armorsmith. I did that basically so I could purchase faction to buy faction armor schematics with, and for the discount on faction items. Another armorsmith in my guild also purchased some faction armor schems, and received them at the same price I did. Do master smugglers not get a faction discount on armor schems, or am I missing something here?

Sounds like you would know better than anyone else. Given that you were charged the same price as your friend, I'd say it never occurred to the devs that an armorsmith might also be a smuggler and should get a discounted price...

I believe that only Imperial Smugglers get a discount on faction schems (faction perks) while Rebels get a bonus on any faction points they earn (both from buying and killing).
Other than that it might have been a small shift in the GCW?
