I hunt on Dantooine and Dathomir a lot, so as a result, I keep picking up rancor hides (not the harvested kind), rancor padded armor segments, voritor hides, and some Nightsister shards. Thing is, I'm not sure if they're crap or quality. I looked at the FAQ above, but when it got to the segment on looted items, it was all Shryyiwook to me.

I am a simple woman who just wants to know what to ditch and what I can save to sell/give to armorsmiths. Could you tell me what stats to look for, what's good, what's bad...? I hope that's not too general. :/

anyhow, almost all of the segments you listed are used in making armor, and are very helpful to the smith. I believe Voritor segs, are used in making Bone armor, so they arnt so much valuble unless someone is very new at the smithing profession and/or wants a good set of Bone Armor. The others, are used in th other various segments. Can go for 500-1k a piece all the way up to 500k or more for Woolamander Bone Segments. If I were you I would make friends with a good smithy and donate a bunch of what you have, in trade for some free armor. I know my wife works that way. We bring her the goods, and she makes the armor. Good luck

Hate to dissagree actually. While it's true that loot segments/segment enhancers -CAN- be useful. It doesnt mean they -are-.

Segment enhancers usually are. Any NS shards and yellow/Green Geo cube are worth -something-. However. Segments are a whole other story.Krayt segments are generally totally worthless unless they are 25+ base, or being used for show armor. Alot of smiths wont even bother with krayt segments that are under 30 base. Alot of other segments are used for either crappy armor. Or are just.. crappy themselves. What you need to look at first is. On your server. What are the base stats for a -crafted- segment, complete with layers made by an armorsmith.

As for segment enhancements. it really depends. if it adds base. It's always good. If it lowers Ham significantly it's also good. If it's an NS layer.. then you idealy want 4 base or higher NS layers. If your looking at Krayt Scales. Base is 4. Which is pretty useless. I've yet to see a good piece of armor made with 4 base scales. However if you can get scales with around 10 percent or more in everything. Then it's definately worth something.

As for RIS components. Pricing really dependso n the server your on. Right now on Bria. Wollemander bone frags and Gurk hides are selling for around 80-100k on average. And GDK scales are sellling for 1.9-3million.

Ultimately your best bet is to put them up for auction on yoru server's trade forum. In the serialized lots. With listed stats. Or instead of an auction just a price check.

can make 80 kin/blast/energy/electric/heat/cold 75 acid comp with base rancor hides and uber comp resources. Ive been making these for guild members doing fs grind, they love the extra condtion (I hit 41-42k cond after exp)
