Thread: factory times

Just got a fewquestions here (all relating to factories mind you):

1) Is the time per item/object solely based on complexity of the item (as listed in your datapad)?

2) Does having an additive increase the time per object of the final product?

3) Is there a listing avialable of all times for Chef items for factories?

4) If number 1 isn't the case, is there some kind of formula to calulate the time per object? (ie. something like Complexity * (ingredients / # of components))

Any of these would greatly appreciated. I would hate to have to create a bunch of subcomponents just so i could throw a dummy schematic and check all the items

Trying to figure out what's going on with some of the math in the game is extremely confusing!

For the most part, (complexity*8) seems to be the time per object, yet on some items, it doesn't want to work:

Brandy w/o additive = 80 seconds (complexity 10) (working as intended)
Brandy w/ additive = 88 seconds (complexity appears to be 11 now (+1)) (working as intended)
Air Cake w/o additive = 40 seconds (complexity 3, yet really, complexity is 5) ( not working as intended)
Air Cake w/ additive = 48 seconds (complexity 3, yet really, complexity is now6 (+1)) ( not working as intended)

Number of ingredients or components doesn't seem to effect the time, besides the additives of course, which seemed to be constant (+8 seconds)...or so I thought:

Blood Chowder w/o additive = 56 seconds (complexity of 6, yet really 7)
Blood Chowder w/ additive =72 seconds (complexity of 6, yet really 9) (jump of 16 seconds, not 8)

For the most part,Foodswith a complexity below 8 taking a light additive seems to have the wrong complexity listed, or some really messed up math processing. Drinks seemed to follow the math pretty well.

Okay, so what now? HUGE favor I have to ask of all of you!

When your making an item, please check the complexity then do an examine of your factory to see the time per object (TPO). If the formulas below don't work, please post here!

TPO w/o additive = (complexity*8)
TPO w/ additive= ((complexity+1)*8)

Thank you!

i notice that when i set any number of factories to make an identical number of identical things, using identical resources, some finish faster than the others, i dont mean in minutes, but i mean in hours, the factories werent all bought fromthe same place, is there a hidden stat on the factories that has effect on the timer, or are my factories being stupid?

It has to do with the complexity of the schematic when it was made.ie a schem with a 35 complexity will take longer than a schem with a 30 complexity.

the factories are all doing identical schems

Says it takes 168 to craft 1 recon seg in a factory. That means a batch of 1000 takes nearly 2 days? 168 is seconds correct?

I can't belive how slow armor is...

i want a vet reward that speeds up factories by 75%

Yep. A full run of cores will take me close to a week of combined factory time. If I have the factories for it, I'll overlap--let the layers run for a day, then start the segments and let them run for two days, then start the cores (since they go much faster)--but that just makes me all confused. >.<

Just get multiple factories and part way through the segments are done through em into cores, then part way cores are done through em into final combines (unless you don't factory final combines, some people don't because of the color thing).
