Thread: Factional Armor: What layers should I add?
In my opinion, layers are only worth the trouble for very specialized situations.
Energy layers for PvP when fighting ranged / lightsaber-heavy jedi.
note: Lousy kinetic resist - if your opponent knows you're using energy layered armor and can switch to a decent kinetic attack type, you're toast.
Kinetic layers for PvE in situations when you're fairly certain you will not be attacked by energy attacks.
note: This is mostly relevant when grinding, and in that situation you really don't need the extra protection nor the extra cost.
Primus layers for decent allround protection (afaik, not too many mobs use elemental attacks)
Best choice, imo. If mob elemental attackshave about the same elemental to kin/ene ratio as player weapons do, you will overall do a little better with these layers even when up against elemental damage mobs.
E.g. something does 800 energy, 200 fire damage to your 6000 protection suit ofunlayered battle armor: result is that you're hit for (1-48%)*800+(1-48%)*200 = 520 points of damage.
Same situation but now 6500 energy/kinetic, 5000 elemental protection armor: Result is that you get hit for (1-50.38%)*800 + (1-42.5%)*200 = 511.96 points of damage.

Agree with the assessment above. People seem to be looking for energy-layered recon and primus-layered everything. Don't be afraid to charge out the whazoo for this stuff. It will be bought by the hardcore PvPers who either believe an extra 4 percent in protection is worth a few million creds, or they just have more money than sense.

Stun layers, Ahazi can hit 30% Stun 70% base and/or 39% Stun 67% Base. Both slice very nice as well. Makes great PvP armor.
Ummmm, either you've been away for a while oryou're being sarcastic and wishing for days past..... confused as to which. Either way you're confusing the new people.
