Thread: RUMOR heard about armor absorbtion any knowledgeable AS please confirm or deny

I've heard in game that IF my armor pieces are at 50% of their total condition or under that they are no longer working!!


example my Recon helmet max condition is 78000 and after numerous battles its at under 39k condition




Now at first I was like no way but in fact my armor was at below 50% and while fighting jedi all of a sudden I noticed that I've been taking much higher damage around 1000 to 1200 plus


I thought maybe I was just fighting jedi with uber sabers but after hearing this rumor now I'm concerned about my armor


Can anyone confirm this for me I would greatly appreciate it

I believe it's a display bug.


Just like Pre-CU, if your armor goes under 50%, it slowly starts to decay (lose some resists).


But getting hit for 1000+, I have no idea what's going on.

Armor will continue to absord even when broken (at zero condition). It absorbs about 30% when using 5900 battle armor.

It's as if you have an armor break on.

thanks guys for the info.


In game I checked out slicing for armor also and I noticed that there is a slice that allows armor to work when below 50% also. ( I'll try and edit in specfic terminology)


not sure if this is relevent info but just something I noticed.



Also when I talked about the damage I took from a lightsaber I'm still confused


I just seem to remember getting my armor when new and taking anywhere from 500-800 damage but recently I'm taking huge numbers in damage well over the thousand and even over 1200 also.


I'll keep trying to find info for this

Pre-CU, you could see the armor's protection stats drop in the "examine" windowonce the armor fell below 50% condition. Now, however, the visible stats will remain the same, but you WILL be taking more damage once you pass 50% condition. The armor still works, but... if you were, as an example, fighting the same enemy, same damage, etc..... as the armor decay's further, the floaty number of your damage taken would continue to rise as your armor worsened.

getting hit for 1200...I think I can explain


jedi's have an armor break skill, and with enough good pearls I've seen sabers that get up to 750+ modified DPS....so if you're armor break'd and get hit with their big guns (figurative) they can and will do upwards of 1200 damage

yup that jedi skill lowers your armor rating by 65%, and you can get increased damage from lower defenses by getting stated (stun/dizzy/intimidate/pistoleer warningshot), being KD (120% damage), and increased accuracy (though that's negligable when it comes to jedi)
