I don't recommend grinding PSG's, they give little xp, and require several factory components. When I was working my way up, Idid the personal armor tree first, so I could make Ubese shirts. You could also make Mabari chest plates, but that requires a lot more materials than the shirts do.
It depends on what your goals are..do you want to plow throughto masteras fast as you can? Or, do you want to make armor to sell along the way? I've noticed on my server that an increasing number of people are asking for decorative padded armor. If there's any demand for that where you are, consider the personal armor tree first. Even if you won't have the full color palette, it would still be something you couldsell, and make xp while crafting custom orders.

when you've finished with techniques, get to the point of being able to make tantel 2-1-0-4 ? and then have a go at layers.
this way, you get a bit more of a feel for actually building armours.
after you are happy with knowing what you are doing, just grind up to the next box, build some more of the new types of armours, possibly some layers, and have a play. Then, grind more for the next box ad infinitum, until you hit master.
it's at that point that you will realise that crafting comp is completely different to any other armour! but at least you will know HOW to build the other armours, unlike those who just ground their way to master, just to get on the composite money train.
use SWG Craft to see what specific resources you will need for crafting good armours, and start harvesting NOW!
good luck with it.
You can probably sell the mabari you can craft to newer players. 2% kinetic protection makes you take about half damage from most the thing new players fight.
If you want to grind, just do mabari shirts.
The way I did it originally, way back when:
I made me and my friends all mabari armor. That got me about half way to the next box. Whenever I levelled, I made us all a new suit, which would get me close to a new box. Then I'd grind a tad for the next one.
Thanks Again!

Here is a Grinder's plight. By rushing through and never touching the low level armors while they are there they will not know how the experimentation points are most effectively used. A good way to see the mass confusion of not knowing how things work firsthand is to go into a Test server with a character builder, and go ahead and get the skills for an elite profession, then commence attempting to figure out all the nessecary pieces, moves, and concepts.
I agree with you 100%. I have a master armorsmith/master weaponsmith. Took me 6 months
I would craft stuff to sell on the bazaar and later on my vendor and level that way. The problem is there are less low level player now than there were back then. It probably makes it harder for people trying to actually play the class. I wish that weren't the case, but I don't see what to do about it.
The best bet might be to get a crafting droid, and go custom make armor for low level player in Eisley. Even if you have to sell the armor cheap. Even crappy mabari would help some of these players a lot.
