The only really major change affecting armorsmiths that's currently on TC is the new 'armor equip delay.' The exact way that this delay will function is still being worked out- currently it is 10 seconds per piece of armor, but this has already gone through multiple iterations. This does not have a particularly large impact on armorsmiths; indeed, it actually encourages people to wear their armor all the time, rather than take it off periodically. The tailors, on the other hand, feel that it strongly discourages people from wearing their products, since it is now rather annoying to switch between combat and non-combat garb.

Note that this is still in testing and is subject to change.

This is something SOE considers important? Yeah.. for sure everyone will just leave their armor on. It's not bad enough that everyone wears comp, now everyone will be wearing it all the time.

So, just to clarify...you equip one piece, wait 10 seconds, equip your second piece, wait 10 seconds, equip your third piece, wait 10 seconds, etc?

So much for the armor on/off macro. That thing rocked and was the first macro I learned. That's just stupid.

So two minutes to put on a set of comp w/ Ubese shirt, Ubese bandolier, and PSG? At least now I've got something to do during my 10 minute shuttle waits.

I believe that this was put in place to stop Jedi from hot swapping between armor and robes, since they no longer will be able to use their force powers while wearing armor. Imagine a Jedi swapping off armor, using a force power, then swapping back on the armor during a fight.

I'm not a fan of this change, but it would only make sense that you have a delay to equip clothing also.

Why not? It makes perfect sense, if it takes time to put armor on, but not take it off, clothing should be tedious to equip also.

Well, I'm not so sure it's a problem with Jedi, since a Jedi with armor on can neither use force powers or a lightsaber, but perhaps hotswapping in combat? It's a lot cheaper to get a 70 base kinetic suit than a 70 bas stun suit, so you buy a stun suit with low base that still have 37-40 stun, and get your 70 base kinetics sliced to 90. Now you have 90% base and 40% stun, but in 2 suits, which ironically is a whole lot cheaper than making one 40 stun/90 base suit. This change will affect that possibility.

Now my question is, is there a 10 second delay to turn on a PSG? God I hope not, because you're certainly not gonna leave it on all the time since a few meatlumps will decay the damn thing to 0, just for situations where you need the extra stun/energy/whatever. A fencer with a nice stun bat can get 10 hits in while your pushing the "On" switch on your PSG, not to mention fighting a Jedi post-pub, where PSG's are the only things confirmed to protect against Lightsaber damage.....

I have actually wanted this feature in the game.Is morerealisticand eliminates any exploitsthat you can do by hot-swapping armor on and off (when not in direct fire), especially with the new HAM revamp. It will be an annoyance to many im sure, but ultimately will make the game morechallenging. You'll have to think before you take your armor off.

Holy crap that is a bad change. Especially for tailors, i mean i like having nice clothes on me but not if it takes me 2 minutes to change and it leaves me partially nude during the process.

Why can't they make it so this timer is only in effect during combat? And while not in combat you can change clothing/armor at will. Doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do since already we can't pull items out of crates during combat, but it works fine when not in combat (never really understood why that is btw).
