I'm planning on starting work on my first RIS armor suit later this week. Any advice before I get started would be greatly appreciated.

I always think that RIS should be special. That means at the very least you should be able to hit the cap on unlayered battle armor. Second level would be to add primus layers. Third level would be to health enhance it to +350. Fourth level would be to layer and health enhance.

Otherwise there's nothing to it. You might want to think about how important the condition is. I used a resource deed for Talusian fiberplast so I could top 100k condition.

I just think RIS should have the nicest number possible, no matter how significant or insignifiant they may be. But that's just my opinion.

P.S. I've found the dark blue and tan combo to be very popular.

Excellent post, Pyke.

I agree with you 100% here.

The 4 steps mentioned would be a great way to start.

If you don't understand any of them, I suggest you read Thula's Guide in the stickies along with WittyNewt's post ( http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=armorsmith&message.id=103706).

Get your core up to the max, try making another battle armor piece just tomake sure everything turns out as planned (expecially health enhancers) if you have doubts, get top-notch Chron Alum and Talus Fiber, make your RIS segments, go to a research center, drink your port, eat your cake, and cross your fingers.

If you haveenough resources to make more than 1 set, you can always play around... But there will always be just one "My first RIS suit" for everyone. Let's do it right!

Good Luck!

FYI, my first RIS was Blue+ Black, but it came out too dark. LOL

My favorite is Red+ Tan.

I'd skip the gloves, at least, unless the customer really wants them. Padded, composite or tantel gloves look fine (tantel is almost a dead ringer for the RIS gloves). I think the boots really complete the look of the armor.

Yeah, just a shame the boots have no sockets.
