Pretty much the "average" stuff is advanced cores and no layers. Most armorsmiths can hit the unlayered caps quite easily now and it's hard to compete with something less. If they are layered, it is almost always energy or primus layers and it raises the price considerably, bucause of the steep resource cost to add them. You have a lot of changes to get used to! Take it slow, throw out everything you knew and good luck!
