Thread: Armor Types & crafting

This may sound like a stupid question, but I've just recently taken up the armorsmith profession, and none of my in-game friends can help me out, so I've turned here.

I decided to go up the skill branch which allows me to craft the different types of armor, such as ubese or, eventually, padded.

The problem I am having is that I am unable to craft certain things, even though I am qualified to do so, and i have the schematics in my data pad.

My question is: what am I missing? Do I need to use a factory to create some of the higher-end types and parts, or am I just missing some major step in the process? And, if I do need a factory, is a public factory good enough or do I need to buy and use my own?

Thanks

Yes, you will need to use a factory to create the layers that go into your segments and the segments that will eventually go into your final piece of armour, as all types of armour above Chitin require you to have multiple identical items from a factory crate. And it really doesn't matter whether you own the factory that you use to create these parts or not, as long as you have admin rights to it.

One other thing is that for many types of segments (especially the advanced varieties), layers, and armour, there are quite specific resources needed to make them. For example, Ubese armour requires the use of Axidite Iron.

Hope this helps some

Make sure you are standing near a private crafting station (driod module or architect built one), public crafting stations are only good up to a point. You will need a factory later on to make your armor, just go find a architect and buy one, they arn't that expensive.
