Howdy, recently mastered A-smith but solely for the purpose of making a supply of armor for myself and a few friends, and I have a few (amateur) questions regarding armor design. Firstly, is there a real benefit to stun layers for PvE (not PvP) composite, or is kinetic the main thing, or possibly energy? For PvP composite is there any value to stun layers beyond the helmet? Maybe triple stun helmet, single stun chest and simply high base/low encumb balance for the rest??? My idea is that possibly I could make several identical composite suits for all circumstances and just swap helmets based on the opponent? Futhermore, I read that the degradation to armor is based on the damage you take and not the damage your armor absorbs, if this is true, then it would seem that high base might be more important than lifespan (integrity i think) does this sound right? Finally can anyone turn me on to some colat iron better than 369/661/776, Naboo FP better than 228/711/811, or Beyrllius Copper better than 683/895/459 on the Valcyn server?I know these are probably very basic questions, but any pointers would be helpful. Thanks a bunch!

i suck at answering questions but here goes

1. No... mainly kinetic/energy and high base are important. Unless you're in the geo caves (probably other places but i dont claim to be an expert on mobs and or combat), but even then a PSG and good comp would suit you better.

2. Yes, the stun dmg can hit you anywhere... not just your head and chest. And putting one stun layer in the chest (which is already the fastest decaying piece) will make it go in a few days... maybe one if yougo all day.

3. The one suit several helmets probably won't work because again dmg can hit you anywhere not just your head.

4. High base AND good integrity would be your best bet, and yes its true; dmg taken is what degrades armor.

5. Your beyrllius is probably excellent b/c that resource is gated and your's is much better than the best on my server (if its 895oq 495 sr that is, i dont think sr on beyrllius can get to 683 but if it can you've got uber beyrllius). Sry i'm not on valcyn so i cant help you with the others.

Thanks Nido, great help, timely response. And the Beyrllius Copper is 683 (Mal) 895 (OQ) 459 (SR.)
