Greetings,

I am getting ready to start in the armorsmith profession, and I have just a quick question..

Not knowing too much about what is neccessary to grind towards master or what different types of armors need to make, I am curious as to the reccomended harvestor distribution.

I'm sure that mineral is a given, and chemical sounds obvious as well. But are they any other materials used ? And what is a good ratio.

I'm thinking all 7 medium mineral harvestors, 2 Heavy Chemical harvestors, and 1 misc (power maybe) or if there are other resources I need, I can adjust the ratios.

I am grateful for any help you can provide. Thanks !!

I'd get 8 mineral harvies, 2 fusion harvies, 4 chem harvies, 2 gas harvies.

And about 25 - 50 Rangers

(those may be hard to find on a vendor though lol)

I would aim for the maximum number of the biggest harvs of each type that you can afford and have lots for.

Mineral/chemical/gas/floral , buy your power its usually cheap

If you only have a couple of some typesthen you'll feel sick a few weeks later when you run out of that uber polymer/gas/wood

Thanks for the responses...

So far, this is what I'm thinking (I don't have enough to go all heavies)

2 Fusion Harvestors for power

5 Medium MIneral harvestors BER 10

2 Medium (or Large) Chem harvestors

1 Medium (or large) Gas harvestor

Based on the asumption that armor is generally in the ration of 4:3:1 Mineral:Chem:Gas

I am relying on the Master Armorsmiths of the game to tell me if that ratio is correct or incorrect. Never having made armor before, I have no idea.

Thanks !!!

yeah, if you have 10 lots for harvesting, then get 10 minerals, and 10 chemicals, and 4 or 5 fusions, and 4 or 5 gas heavies.

You'll want a full set of minerals and chemical because when some uber spawn happens, you'll want to stick every lot you own on it.If some uber polysteel copper spawns you want to place 10 heavy minerals, not 5 minerals, and then some chemicals on something else. If two uber spawns happen at the same time I would suggest picking one or the other, or mooching a friend into placing harvs for you.

The fusions you won't need a full 10, but what you'll do is plop em down whenever you don't have anything else to mine. I say only 4 or 5 gas heavies to begin with alsobecause gas requirements as an armorsmith are tiny, but that's something you should look into upgrading to the full 10 in the future as well. But until then if you're mining some gas (there's a named gas needed for one layer type, and I think generic inert for another) you can plop your fusions down as well.

Then again if all your talking about right now is grind material mining.. then it depends what your grinding with. AUks, mbari chests, or ubese shirts. But your ratio of 7/2/1 would probably be enough.

Thank you, that's just the kind of input I was looking for. Initially, yes. I will just be focused on grinding. What , I don't know, but I will look into the 3 you mentioned.

But of course, I always want to keep an eye on the future since I will be the armorsmith for a guild and player city and I want to make them the best protection I possibly can.

Looks like Polysteel copper is a big one. I'll have to do some serious research to find out what other specific resources I should be looking for.

Add a flora or two. If endorian wood hits decent stats on your server, you'll need something to pull it up with. Of course, if you don't intend to make any wookiee armor of any type, then don't bother with them. We don't know yet what resources advanced wookiee armor will use, but it would be a fair bet more wood will be needed.

lol yeah. Wookiee's have 1 armor type now (was added months ago), but it requires wood of all things . I had forgotten about it, I made some wookiee chest plates a month ago or so and decided it wasn't worth the bother and never got around to finishing a full suit run.

Oh and if you're grinding you don't need a gas harv at all I don't think. It's been a while since I did any grinding so I'm not 100% on this, but I don't think any of usual grind articles require gas.

You need a gas harvy. Granted with the state of combat as it is, making energy and acid layers and such don't tend to be very popular which are really the only items needing any sort of gas for armorsmiths.
