Thread: Idea to revive Epic Armor

The biggest problem I see with RIS and Mando armor is that they are not worth the time. Sure they look cool, but I have never been a person that goes around looking for things to decorate my house. Since we have little information about the Armor revamp and its changes, I would like to share my ideas on how we can inspire people to seek these special armor's.
Even if the armor is the best in the game (after revamp) it still, to me, is not worth the hassle of getting it. My reason for stating this is because of the max condition of the armor. Even if you got it, heavy players would ruin it in a matter or days or weeks. So resolution to this would be to remove decay completely from these armors and/or make some sort of quest to get it repaired. Something like a Mando prison or something where an npc will repair your armor to full condition. And for RIS maybe something along those same lines.
I also thing that due to the difficulty ofaquiring these speical items, they will still be in rare form even with decay bypassed or removed.
I think this will drive people to collect resources for our Armorsmiths to craft, thus generating more economy for the Armorsmith.
If this is repetitious, I apologize, please be gentle because I am allergic to flames.

I found them to be very worth my time. I just made my second peice of RIS and couldnt be happier. Why? sense of accomplishment. Ya someone can have 12 experimentation points or be the richest AS, but not all of them can say they crafted any RIS. Most that set to do the quest don't ever complete it, and if they do, they can't get another scale for their own peice.
I know of only 3 smiths that have made any RIS peice on my server......and one of them has only made the helmet, so I am one of two smiths to make a chest or pants. Gets my name out there and makes me feel good.
I am sure any DE's or smiths that craft and mando armor will also have some of the same pride, even if the resists are crap. It isn't jsut about the uber resists, most of the fun is in the quest.

The stats on the 'repaired' piece would be based off the stats of the old piece, and the quality of the new resources use to repair it. So, if the original piece was made with no-so great materials, due to the resoures avalaible at the time, and is repaired with top of the line resoures, the stats would come up a little, but would not be as good as a piece made from scratch with the newer resources.
This would only be avaliable for the quest armors (RIS, Malorian) due to the rarity of the looted components. someone may like their composite that was made with nice looted layers and such to be able to be repaired this way, but I think that would have a negative effect on the economy.
