Armors like chitin (which i've seen up to 30% ken) could have super low ham with todays armorsmiths and might be better than composite after revamp.

Just a thought. Care to discuss???

Unless they seriously drop the resource requirements on padded I very much doubt padded will show up much more, it just sucks too hard. Ubese might gain more prominance. Thing is, if they only lower the cap on resists, comp will still rule. Comp protects against almost everything, and if you do PVP, you much protect yourself against everything. People have large stocks of comp resources, and are very good at making it.

Armorweave: Hard to get high resists, one special protection cannot be raised by experimentation, not very good.

Chitin: Poor mans ubese, usually less resists and higher or comperable HAM, loses to ubese.

Tantel: Only a few peices, weak to PVP, huge hide requirements compared to comp.

Ubese: Good kinetic protection, lower HAM than comp, useful for only fighting critters, but limited protections against other damage types.

Padded: Requires lots of wooly hide, which is expensive. Needs Lok leathery hide, which is very hard to get and usually sucks. Special protection is blast, which is not very common. Resists not as good as comp in general. HAM costs are almost as bad if not worse than comp.

Comp: Provides very good to excelent all around protection. Only uses one organic, wooly hide. High to very high HAM costs.

Bottom line: Comp rules because its good all around. Unless somthign else is changed to also be good all around, comp will still be whats used.

yeah, I think they'll need to redo the resource requirements of some of them before they'll be viable as full production armor. There's simply too many harvested resources needed for chitin and padded for them to be viable.
