couldn't see this in the guide to armoursmithing ..... can you add a layer to chitin armour ?
If so - any suggestions ?
I'm going to have a 'play' tonight and see what I can come up with using the following options :
1) kliknik shells, experimenting on the special resistance
2) advanced chitin segments with janta hide + xxxx layer ?, experimenting on encumbrance
what I'm looking for reducing encumbrance as low as possible, but keeping fairly high kinetic resistance.
Currently 4-1-0-4 armoursmith ...
Any advice, hints/tips greatly appreciated :-)
thanks

1 - You'll only be able to get kinetic around 30-35% if you use kliknik shells. They replace your crafted segments. The weight will be low though.
2 - I would try voritor or kryat scales. Both will boost kinetic (along with a few others).
Chitin doesn't accept any layers, so you're stuck with only an enhancer.
I've gotten it to around 63%+/- kinetic.

thanks - I have some voritor scales stashed away somewhere :-) will give that a go tonight .

I have a set of 65% Kinetic unenhanced adorning my shop.. now all I need is some exceptional krayt/voritor scales.

kliknik are not what you want.. they'll ad to base, but leave kinetic low... I made some 63% kinetic unenhanced myself, and I'm sure you could make something in the 50's at least. voritor or krayt are great, as they keep enc down, and boost kinetic.
