Thread: Info on ARMOR PADDING for Wookie armor?

Ok, i am just now starting my wookie armor stuff, i need to know what is the best stats to look for on the Padding from a tailor. Here is what i got from one.
Base; 4%
Int; 153
HAM; 7/8/7
Base; 2%
Int; 353
HAM; 3/4/3
Are either of these worth making segs out of? also, what is it that the tailor should Exp on?
Any info on this please.

It looks like your tailor isn't using quite the best resources for padding, but it can be a bit of a culture shock for tailors to be concerned with resource stats. I selected my resources myself and gave them to my tailor, and worked with her to make some nice padding segments.
In the final product, I've found wookiees tend to want kinetic maxed at the expense of everything else. You will, however, want to use your padding segments to get the base as high as possible. As this is the case, your tailor will need resources with a high OQ+SR, the same as us armoursmiths. You'll also want to ask him/her to make sure that the base effectiveness is maxed (your 4% example below).
With nice resources, my padding is:
Base: 4%
Integ: 256
HAM: 5/6/5
If you go with the 4% in your example below you should still be able to turn out nice armour. With some time and practice you can also drop the HAM and raise the integrity too.

You can make great padding with your second or even third best wooly. I used a great but cheap bristley, and fiberplast, and it gave alot of room for error with the wooly. However, to get above 90% on padding, you have to have great all 3. Using 1700+ bristley, 1450 + wooly, and 1500 + fiberplast, I finally broke 4%baseand went up to 82%.
Since generic hides is the largest group ( 15 vs 10 wooly and 5 fiber) it's easiest to get this in better stats. Great wooly just costs way to much to use it to drag the stats up. While the current wookiee armor only requires similar padding, I'm sure the next 2 builds will require identical. I haven't experimented to see if combine 2 different stats types, what will stick, but I know it works with chitin.
