Hi guys :

I would like to offer a solution to the growing problem with the cu towards

the armorsmith proffession...

Its a very simple one but requires cooperation from all of us as a team on all

the servers.

From the release date we need to send a message that the powers that be

will respect and understand. So I would suggest that we all raise our prices

so high that armor cant be afforded by anyone . When the general population

gets mad becuase they cant get any armor and raise enought hell we will

have the developers attn and can get some of the issues adressed....

Boycott customers and raise prices shut down the profession and strike a

blow for the Armorsmith Proffession.......

I know yor angry, but thats no way to get attention. Thats very counterproductive. Best way to get attention is to get peeps informed. Not hold them at gunpoint.

This will definately benifit the first guy to drop his prices from unreachable to just unacceptably high. I can guarantee someone will do it.

Things like this rarely work. And with all-new requirements it's not like only the old-timers will have the resources required to make decent armor, there's always a friend or a guildie you can go to for what you need.

***I am not suggesting these methods, I am merely pointing out how they have worked in the past.***
What does work?
Massive community outcry. The crafting revamp was pulled at the last minute due to massive resistance.
Server crashes. It's not the most elegant solution, but when people get called in after hours because someone went and crashed a server they eventually ask why it was done.

What doesn't work:
Posting where you're told, how you're told. The wooks learned this one the hard way, no armor for a year when they posted in their "core systems" board like good pet kitties.
Asking politely. Wookiees tried this as well, didn't work.
Suffering in silence. No way for the devs to change something they don't know is a problem.
Boycotting. There's always someone new who doesn't know/care about the issues and is willing to do any prof if they'll make good money doing it.

No,not raising prices, not doing this ,not doing that.I will do same as always and when I'm traveling around and you were to ask me about a chest piece or any part, there's a good chance I'll make it for free and that's not going to change. I love making armor. Now you're going to say " you'll run out of creds ". No,when you guys offer high prices for hide,I hunt it and make a killen.I have enough creds to last for years. Thanks guys.

I just don't think this is the answer. Personally I feel that if the community continues to speak out, we will have a much better chance for success. So tell all your friends AS's or not, get them to be heard.
We all pay good hard earned money for this game, we deserve the best possible experience "we can possibly imagine...."
Just a thought.

that was Ghandi's idea, it worked well untill the british shot him

Hah, that reminds me of something a poli-sci professor always said in college:
Rule 1: If you disagree with someone, shoot them.
Rule 2: Don't hide sh!t in your car.
Rule 3: Don't open the door for the cops if you do have something to hide.
Rule 4: Don't throw out what you're hiding.
There were a few others...

Anyways, it looks like the CU is doing away with the whole concept of "affordable armor". No more 120k 80% kinetic suits, no more 120k anything suits, maybe 120k per bracer...

lemme think.
NO.

cause due to the CU requirements on armor, and what's needed to make the armor now, prices are already going to be steep. been warnning my guild and my server ( unles things change). It alsmost feels like shipwight or Arcitect. realisticly, (snickers) that much resources would be good for two armors, not one armor. that's Suit.

In a way we don't need to do a campaign like that, the Dev's already desided that for us. I agree that if we were to keep armor at insane prices, then someone out there will instantly charge lower at a reasonable price. I'm already doing that, where I make money off what I make and able to pay off those who help me, yet still sell afordable armor.

so far the one thing that would send a msg is what Ohram is doing with his memo to Devs. Another thing that would work, and in a poliete but helpfull manner, is using that bug reporter they have, as well as that Customer service feedback pop up they have when you leave Test center. They look at these things. as some of you my scoff they do take into what we say (as long as it's in a reasonable, meaningfull professional) manner like the memo Ohram made up.

Would never work, someone would sell out to make a little bit of money. How about we just refuse to make armor? No wait, then someone would sell out and to a little bit of money. Damn you greedy bastards. How about we do what the wookies did? We all pick a server and make nub artisans and stand in coronet telling the devs how mcuh we hate and despise them!

Okram2k again thank you for your very hard work, hopeless that it maybe.

Everyone, speak out, both if you like the changes or not, without alot of feedback form SOE customers we will be forced into something we may or may not like, silence does not count as a vote.

If all the armorsmith quite they just put out the blue frogs and give the armor away to keep those few left happy. So if we raise prices or lower price or not make armor, SOE is still bent on moving SWG to its EQ2 code. It is clear they did not want to fix are system that we have use, enjoyed and mastered for the last 2 years. We all have noticed many of are fellow players have left, this is a pure money thing for them, they can send less time programming. Face it SWG has been Down-Size we are no longer special, I wonder ifthe same accountant that use to work at Metell works for SOE?

This is only punishing those with combat profs for the Devs changing AS so much. Plus like others ahve said, there will be lots of peeople who will drop their prices to barely affordable and will rake it in....better to get petition to be signed by people from ALL walks of SWG life...
