Since the server is down now I decided I should try and figure out which of my stash of wood is now best for kashyyykian appearances with the new system. The results were a bit disappointing, but they make sense once you think about it. Since the old system didn't care about resource caps there wasn't that big a difference between woods except for OQ.
Let's take Evergreen wood for example, since it is easiest. It has a cap of 500 on DR and 400 on SR. The previous equation (DR+OQ+SR)/3 meant that the best ever wood was (500+1000+400)/3, or 63.3%. If we consider that one a 100% optimal wood in the old system, it was easier to get good woods than in the new system since the caps made the random ranges smaller.
In the new system we adjust for the caps, so the same optimal wood 500DR 1000OQ 400SR is still 100% optimal, the difference now is that everything that was not quite optimal in the old system is now much worse in the new. Just losing 100 each of DR and SR in the old system didn't make much difference, but in the new system it makes a much bigger difference.
So my conclusion is that it is harder to get good wood now, comparatively, since the DR and SR ranges are higher. Aaanyway, here are the formulas for calculating how good your wood is:
Conifer Wood: (DR/600+OQ/1000+(SR-100)/300)/3 .. example: 542DR 986OQ 108SR wood ->63.9% optimal with the new system, 81.8% optimal with the old,
Evergreen Wood: (DR/500+OQ/1000+SR/400)/3 .. example: 424DR 787OQ 388SR wood ->86.8%optimal with the new system, 84.2% optimal with the old.
Decidious Wood: (DR/800+OQ/1000+(SR-300)/400)/3 .. example: 683DR 977OQ 320SR wood ->62.7% optimal with the new system, 79.2% optimal with the old.

Let's hope the caps are the same for the Kash woods I bet will be used one the expansion is released
