Cores are easy to calculate: just add 400 to the stats and that's what the final rating on a finished piece of armor will be using that core.
So, the ones that have 5000-5500 base are going to be good because that's about what many AS can make for unlayered cores. I can make 5300-5400 base with common Corbantis resources and 5550 or so base with the rare stuff. Higher than 5600 moves them into layered core country which would them even more valuable. 6600 or higher would be exceptional and I'd be surprised if anything like that ever drops.
In my opinion, slight lower stats (like say 4500-5000) range are still useful for wookie grinding armor, because the looted cores add about 20k-40k more in condition to wookie chest pieces.
At this point in time, because of the scarcity of armors and the huge demand, you'd be doing a great service to everyone if you dump the "non-keeper" cores onto bazaar instead of deleting.
