One of the most annoying facits I have faced post CU, aside from the huge increase in resource uses, is the fact that I can't justify the cost of making armor pieces in factories. Here are the numbers, which are quite obvious.
1000 max schematic, so initially, say..
1000 Primus layers (any layer, for that matter)
----->4 layers per segment, 250 segments
-------------------> 4 segment max to max out resists for Core
-------------------------->Results in 62.5 Cores. Each full suit takes around 11 Cores, sooo..
-----------------------------------> Roughly, 5 full suits (Not including boots and gloves, of coarse).
Granted, I have thought about making 1000 Primus, 1000 Energy, 1000 Kinetic and 1000 of something else to balance out, but as you all know...well, all these take seperate rare resources.
I'm looking for ideas here, but just wanted to see if anyone else was feeling my pain. I would really like to see an increase in schematic uses, say, from our 1000 to 2000.
Thanks for listening...

3 segments per suit, not 4.. so for every 1000 layers you get a whooping 7 suits!
I'm making a run of primus cores for each armor type, but I won't use them in anything but custom suits, and the cost will be high.
Loose primus layers are good to have for stuff like enhanced armor too, so I'm making a run of 1000 layers to keep for that.
But really, if you want 1000 coresprimus you just have to parallellize your process. First make12 runs of 1000 layers, then take those layers and make 3 runs of segments with 4 layers each, then take those 3 segments and make 1000 cores. Uses up a wee amount of resources though.

Yikes! Stripes!
Yea, I guess you are right..that would make sense to just make 3 or 4 different layer sets...errr..but yea, I don't have the uber resources to make better suits. I just hate for my customers to settle for mediocre, but oh well..guess there isn't much I can do if they want the suits affordable.

Running in parallel is definitely more efficient.
I ran @750 * 4 primus layers and was able to squeeze out around 33 suits with them, even with adding the inefficiency of splitting the layers into all 3 armor types. I couldn't make a full run of 1000 because I only had one 100k stack of that particular neutronium. HEH.
I set up 12 more factories to be able to run 12,000 at a time, but I'm definitely going to have to wait for more spawns to have the resources for a full runs like that

It would be nice yes however TH said once long ago that schematics were never intended to be 1000 units but more along the lines of 100 but people quickly learned they could add a 0 to the end and get 1000. They just changed the graphical use to 1000 and locked it down. If you really want to make huge runs of cores do 4 runs of your primus layers that will allow for 999 segments whichwill allow for 332 cores which would be 36-37 full suits IF you only used the 1 run of cores. you could always do 8 or 12 or 16 full runs of layers and do the math from there.
The last time i did a big run of composite about 6-7 months ago i ran off enough layers/segments to pump out 248 full suits of composite (i never liked having to craft full time).
Chest was 3 full layer runs
Bracers were 3 full layer runs
biceps were 3 full layer runs
pants and gloves were 3 full runs
boots were 3 half layer runs
helmets i did 3 full layer runs then kept the extra segments to hand craft odd pieces that were running low on the vendors once every few weeks to a month.
Granted it used up lots and lots and LOTS of resources but it gave me the time to do other things including getting MORE resources, and level 3 other toons. Though having 40 factories running was a plus.

well... technically you can do it this way...
None of the layer or segment slots require identical serialnumbers. So you plug 4 full runs oflayers into 1 segment, 4 full runs into the second segment, and 4 full runs into the third segment, then you have 3 groups of999 segments for each of the 3 segment slots in advanced cores, so you could get a998 core run from that. But this method assumes you get the result you want on the first craft, takes 12 factories just for the layers, 3 for the segments, and1 for the cores... andwith how slow the factory times are, you're looking at close to 10 days before you get to finished cores, and that's only if you have access to 12 factories for the fastest possible route

Edit: *sigh* sorry... just basically suggested what everyone else has... gotta get some sleep one day soon

40 is hard enough to maintain. If it werent for maintenance droids I would have blown them all up by now.
