Thread: How armor resists should be:

Something occured to me the other day while reading a write up on SWG.

Everyone involved in PvP wears Composite Armor and for PvE Ubese Armor.

With composite armor hitting the caps for all resists and on some servers 38% for stun why have any other types in the game?

Ubese gives high kinetic protection for PvE which has value.

Bone Armor, Mabari, Chitian, Padded why are these even in the game?

What would have made more sense is that different types of armor protect against certain kinds of damage.

For example:

Bone Armor: 80% Energy 20% everything else

Mabari: 80% Acid 20% everything else

Chitian :80% Heat 20% everything else

Padded :80% Stun 20% everything else

Ubese :80% Kinetic 20% everything else

Composite :60% to everything

The way armor and weapons are set up now the only thing a bit harder to protect against is "stun damage"

Thus stun weapons have an edge over all other weapon types.

Be nice to see different types of armor....

If the devs didnt want to change the system, armor "skins" similar to BE would be cool.

Anyways, armor protections vs types and styles makes no sense.

Alot of people buy padded for the looks, and with great resources, it has nearly the same stats as composite. (with crappy resources I still got 72% kinetic 44% base out of it).

People buy the other armors because they are lighter on ham, and alot cheaper (disposable).

I agree with Ramhorn onthis one. I sell 2 types..Composite of PvP and Ubese for PvE. Occasionally i'll sell some padded because someone wants to look good. Never do i sell any other types or even bother to make them. The current problem with padded armor is, with the extra layers in it, it's almost as heavy as advanced composite with not as good resists. Make the other armor viable.
