Thread: Interesting Armor Repair Issues

So, I have quite a few friends and customers who bring me their armor for repair. Part of the price of my armor includes lifetime repair at no charge, and a 50% rebuy on any piece that I destroy during repair (I try to let everyone no that - if I didn't I apologize)

I also have +18 in armor repair skill tapes and use a 98.8% tool

For the last month since I've aquired these skill tapes as well as master artisan (which I only got a month ago) my repair rate has been "repaired with minor blemishes" aproximately 80% of the time, "reparied but reduced integrity" 19% of the time, and "destroyed" liek 1 % of the time if the armor has at least 20% integrity.

Basically my repairs rock and I have very little problems.

So...........

I sold all my artisan skills down to 4-0-3-0.........

The same exact night I had someone come to the shop for repairs - I had approx 20% destroyed, 20% perfect, and 80% reduced - very discouraging, but figured it was an off night.

Next day I repaired some armor i had layin around that had about 60% integrity - same thing, mostly reduced integrity and some destoyed. Same again the next night.

Seems pretty obvious that armor repair is tied to the artisan tree and not to the AS tree (even though there are no skill mods given for repair on either)

just a little FYI

That's strange. I'veactually noticed little to no difference rapairing armor at master armorsmith + master artisan and master armorsmith + 4004 Artisan. That is using+10armor repair on clothing. I certainly don't do as many rapairs as you do but my statistics match what you were getting prior to dropping MArtisan. This is interesting, I may have to run a few tests.

Repair sucks, but so does this game, what else is new really. Hackjob fixes on top of unreliable elements is not the best strategy for effective works. I'm sure they are trying, but they need to try harder and have more than 3 people working on fixing the crap.

there is good reason for improved repair results. the skill tapes. the repair skill has always been there via skill tapes. being a master artisan or master armorsmith has no effect on the outcome. i hope that this is fixed soon. i am a master artisan/master armorsmith and i have a skill tape with armor repair. when i look at my skills i find that it says armor repair 0/+1. the +1 being my skill tape. this really, really needs to be fixed.

I am not convinced that MAS isn't giving me any hidden bonuses (ala master smuggler slicing increases that are not listed).

I'm sure someone has gone over this previously here:

"I had approx 20% destroyed, 20% perfect, and 80% reduced"
Erm dosent that add up to 120%? Still the point is well taken you would think that an armorsmith would have a big bonus to repairing armor. I mean after all he probably put the stuff togeather he should know how to patch it back togeather better than the guy that just wears the armor.

nnnntnnnxgggggggggggggggggggggg)
To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

From what I read here you make up those 60/20/20%from asingle setyou have repaired. This is all BS.

If you want to prove anything and tell us something new get 4 crates of gloves (100 gloves). Get themdecayed to 50% condition and repair them all. Record all results and repeat this setup with any changes. Otherwise it is all just your feeling and not statistical data.

Aren - piss off

I posted this as some FYI for those who care - not for people to slam me

As I stated above, I repair armor ALL THE TIME - every day in fact - and always have very great success

THIS IS A FACT - As soon as I sold Master Artisan and most of the artisan skills all my repairs went to pot

Everyone take it for what they want
