Thread: RIS questions from a non-crafter...

OK, so I have a few questions about RIS...

Before you send me to the "Fact or Fiction" post, I've already read it several times, but that really makes ZERO sense to me as I've never done any crafting in the game.

So I finally rounded up all the looted components required. Got my GDK scales, Peko feathers, Gurk hides and Wooly bones... I also just picked up 1 Interwoven R.I.S. schematic. From what I understand, this makes the armor much better, which is good. I also understand that you only get 5 uses with the schematic, so to complete a full suit you need 2 of them... is that correct?

Now, when I bring all of this to my armorsmith of choice, what should I be asking him to do in ways of layers and what-not? Can any of you wise armorsmiths give me some suggestions on what your Interwoven RIS armor of choice would be (as far as protections go). I'm not too worried about encumberance, so if it's a little heavy, that's ok with me... I'd like the best protections possible...

So... toss out some suggestions (and try to keep them dumbed down for me...again, i'm not a crafter).

Thanks in advance guys

I've played around with interwoven RIS a lot (on my fourth or fifth schematic now).

I've settled on using two kinetic layers, experimented at about 7% kinetic, 3% base and one nice (~8%) Nightsister layer on the heavier parts like the helmet, chest, and pants. Biceps, bracers, and gloves can be made with good resists and an encumbrance close to 0 if you use triple Nightsister layers.

Depending on what I've got around, I either use a Janta hide or a Nightsister shard. Always use yellow cubes.

If you ask the most respected, most knowledgable, most resourceful armorsmith in the game about making RIS , he will probably give you a quick summary of the types of RIS he can make, and he will probably do it damn well.

Just find a nice helpful, good armorsmith and chances are he will just ask for the components and get the job done.
