I've always been a fan of the look of ubese armour.
Is there any reason to buy ubese other then if you can't affordcomposite?
Is there any way that it stacks up to composite? other then encumberance?

if you PVE is is great (hunting critters not NPCs)
you will probably not notice much of a difference in the damage taken if you are hunting if the ubese is over 70% kinetics, than if you were wearing comp.
Ubese is much cheaper than comp, but it does tend to wear out quicker.

As the above poster said Ubese is superb for hunting creatures that do kinetic damage as you should be easily able to get hold of a suit that is 70%+ resist against kinetic. However Ubese is lacking in resists in other areas so against anything that doesn't do solely kinetic damage you might be caught out.
It's cheaper than composite and has a lower HAM cost to wear than composite.

Get yourself a small (5) crate of Ubese jackets and toss them into a droid. When one of your jackets wears out, peel off a new one and keep going. With Ubese you don't -need- to get it sliced to have the HAM low enough to not need buffs. If you aren't fighting vs weapons, it's more than adequate and wins hands down in the encumbrance vs composite.
