Thread: Any point in taking up AS
AS is pretty much dead. Unless you have 3+ accounts I would not advise becoming an AS. First, the enjoyment of learning the profession has been nerfed into one experimentation line. You still need tailor subcomponents to make anything. Factory times have increased, my 2 factories aren't enough to keep up. Inorganic resources have increased, so you'll need more lots for your harvesters. Organics have increased, you will need a scout. The resources themselves might look good, but unless you have a 4-5 page document on hand to interpret the gated values your 850 OQ material might be total junk. To make faction armor, the glorified new content, you really need to work with a smuggler. Honestly, as an armorsmith of over 19 months, I'm hoping for a respec into tailor. If you like "intelligent" crafting you might want to check out weaponsmith.
Renea,
no
And this from a July 2003 Master Armorsmith who loves the profession...or loved it would be more accurate
This account is from august 2003 and it is cancelled. Better off with a different game if you are looking for crafting.
Just to echo everyone else, you don't want it.
It is just like a profession that doesn't stink, only not.

From what I hear every non-soe game has a better crafting system now. They all wanted to be as good or better than SWG and well with the CU SWG dropped to min![]()

I so got to remeber that.
I agree though, the ball is being dropped on this one. I had hopes at the beginning of the testing phase, then the more that was shown to us, the more it reared it's ugly head.
As for taking up AS, up to you. It's a long haul. and time wise is a huge investment. You'll also need a good player network at least (Or be in a good guild).
