My Dear Armorsmiths,
I have what I assume are fairly basic questions about the new armor which I hope one of you will help me with.
Question 1 - Protection
The new armor now has protective values such as 5900 / 4200 / 4700 for Kinetic / Energy / Base. What quantity are these numbers expressing and what is "base" protection?
Question 2 - Hindrance
My new armor sets (well, at least my newrefit armor sets)all have hindrance values which seem to be below my mitigations giving me, effectively, no hindrance from wearing the armor. I am, like many, a level 80 ( I hate saying "level") combatant. Will armor with a higher protective value (especially Battle Armor) likely have hindrances higher than my mitigations leading me to later decide between increased protection and lower hindrance?
Question 3 - Health
I have a few looted Night Sister Shards which have turned into "Advanced Assault Segments". I noticed that they have a "+15 Health" rating on them. Does this imply that some armor with the right looted (or manufactured) components will actually boost health?
That's all for now, thank you for your time.
P.S.,
I would like to say that this forum has always have one the most interesting and "customer friendly" sets of documentation. I can't wait to read through the new notes on loot usage and the like and am very much looking forward to spending a lot of money with my Local AS trying all of this out.
P.P.S.,
And one final note about the CU. I know that the CU has been not been popular with many peopleand this forum seems to have had an especially tough time of it,but from an Armor User's and Buyer's perspective, the new armor "seems" much more straightforward, understandable, and desirable. That coupled with the new freedom to purchase different "presentations" of armor (Bone, Padded, etc) without having to sacrifice utility I believe will help bring about a greater degree of interaction between buyer and Master Armorsmith. Maybe this will help get some of you out of the factory and on to the showroom floor if you will. I for one know I'm looking forward to it!
Thanks again.
Sincerely,
Mcgreag

1: 0.011R - (5*10^-7)*R^2 where R is the armor rating and the answer in % protection.
2: Only way to get protection so high the hindrance is above max mitigation is thru slicing (slicing will increase both protection and hindrance).
3: Correct
