Has anyone attempted to craft a piece since the CU?
Is the color palette still random, or can the smith choose Post-CU?
Does anyone know if, beyond the Quest components, can other special components be combined with the Mando piece in the crafting process? Such as GDK scales, etc?

Many pieces have been crafted and yes, you do have control of the color palette with the system now. However, the helm is given a smaller palette then the rest of the armor, due to using a droid engineer for the crafting.

Is this armor viable in PvE or PvP? I mean, it's value would dictate not using it at all - unless you had ADK's of course. =P

The armor is Assault armor. It has the same resists as composite, so know it's not all that PvP friendly. And personally, I'd never make a piece for anybody that doesn't have an ADK waiting for it.

Heh.
Can Assault armor be experimented in a way that raises Energy up a bit? That + ADK + Armor Break slices would make for serviceable armor, if not the most uber.

You get a total of 40 colors to choose from as a MDE and if you cap out your droid customization you end up with 50 total colors to choose from. But the extra 10 colors arent really that great.
