ok im 4204 armorsmith and only going master to craft mando armor im also a master droid engineer and a sonn to be master tailor. heres my question ive been creating a butt load of battle armor segments in my factory and then grinding out battle cores non stop. some of my friends r asking for free armor and i have no problem with that as long as they help me get resources. the thing is i really half understand what im doing i dont understand layers at all or where to find their resources. if someone knows a link to a guide that would help me plz post it or if u feel like typing all the info plz do. thank you

Well, bro, I'm not sure I'd bother with layers at all until you master and are able to cap your cores. Layers are optional and take a hideous amount of specialized resources and factory time. But some people do and that's their choice.
The resources for layers are found in the same place than most other resources are: in the ground. But they do tend to be some of the rarer resources. For example, on Scylla you won't find vintrium ore for primus layers for love nor money (unless you have some resource kits). And if you do have kits, it would take three of them just to get the 64k of ore you'd need for 4 runs of 1000 layers. Those layers will make 999 segments, which make 333 cores and, you guessed it, 30 suits of armor (with change). So you're already out 18 million (600k per suit) just for the one resource.
As for how layers work, it's pretty simple. They raise a stat or stats while lowering others. By far the most widely used are primus, which raises kinetic and energy protection while lowering special protection, and energy, which boosts energy while lowering kinetic. That's how you get 8100+ energy recon armor that has less than 4000 kinetic protection.

They randomly spawn on different planets and aren't necessarily spawning at all on any planet. If you have a galaxy that is pretty good at keeping swgcraft.com updated, you can go there and see what is currently spawning on what planet. It's a great help. Don't use the 30k deeds unless you absolutely need to.
