What does it mean to be a 12 Point Armorsmith? Is there anything higher than 12 Point?

1) You have twelve experimentation points (from getting +20 armor experimentation from clothing attachments) instead of the ten you get at master.

To be a 12pt Armorsmith means you've collected Armor Experimentation Tapes worth in total +20. You get each experimentation point from +10 in Armor Experimentation. So with master armorsmith, +10 would make you 11pt and +20 would make you 12pt. You can't however get 13/14/15+ points as the tape enhancements have a cap at +25. Rumor (or is it fact?- unsure myself) has it that +25 makes it easier to get amazing successes on experimentation.
As far as usefulness of the extra points go, they are nice for increasing your conditions on armor and making experimenting just that bit more easier than it is already. However lots of AS's now just see it as a status symbol of the old days and it isn't worth spending millions on tapes when you first become an AS. My advice is to invest in the best harvesters and slowly increasingthe quality of yourresources as that'll make the better armor not the 2 extra experimentation points.

orry to hijack the thread, but I have another question to add that is on topic. Once you are 12 pt, does it do you any good to use drink (name escapes me) to improve experimentation results?

Yes, it does improve your assembly results.
Port and cake, as well as experimenting in a research center and forceskillsall stack on top of the 12 points.

yeah for certain things it is crucial, the rest of the time it is just safe. allows you to not eat it on a piece of armor when you have a failure. with 12 points you can normaly save it.

Yeah, there are a number of items that I craft on a regular basis that I never use more then 8 pts for, so I tend to have 2 - 4 points remaining...

If your diligent on your server trade forums and good with bartering you might be able to pick up you +12 exp suit for less than 5mil these days. I know I did

My server they are still going for 1 mil per point for experimentation, but around 500k per point for assembly.

I picked up 12pt for 500k/pt Exp and 100k/pt Assembly. More times then not, I see WS/AS exp cas going for around 250k/pt.
Plus, using Vendor search is your friend. It may take a few hours, but a friend was able to build a 12pt exp/ass WS suit for under 4 million.
